On my 2001 I have a Scanguage hooked up to the OBD port to view trans temp and a few other things while driving. Sometimes when I unplug it it makes the radio go a bit wonky. The clock will reset to 12:00 and switch to a non station like 87.5

Yes, heard of it before on the pages of this forum. Missed the part where a BT scan tool was plugged into the ODBII port.

Have you done a compression test, leakdown and bore scope on the misfiring cylinder?

    I second this.

Lucas, #7 is one of the common failure cylinders from oil ingestion. You may have found the culprit for your electronic issues and you've done pretty much all the prerequisite troubleshooting for the cylinder misfire. Time to dig a little deeper and check the mechanical aspects of it.

I used to leave my BT OBD2 scanner plugged in all the time before installing my Kenwood HU...

I never had any of those issues. Just another point of comparison.

My BT scanner turns off automatically though when not in use after a certain amount of time though.

I took it to the dealer and had them look into it, I know they have the ability to check the VLOM. Also, I’ve never had any type of lifter tick or anything. So I’m praying its not a lifter or anything.
