Yet still the cluster shows I have normal pressure. I have swapped out three (plus the filter) now (acdelco/gm) and I still have the cell. Any Ideas from this point on?

Yes, i swapped it out three times (thinking i had bad sensors). Now I know I have three good sensors and it is my chevy that is the issue.

I checked the wiring (from what I can tell at the port and what my eyes and hand can see/feel) checks out. No breaks, fraying of any sort.

Has the filter below the oil pressure sensor been verified as clean?

What does the gauge read if you unplug the sensor?

Yes I removed it complete and undamaged with a 5/16 lag screw. No I have no tried that. I will unplug it this evening.

the dash runs off the same sensor.

things aren't really adding up. first. do you have a scanner? if so what's it say for oil. pressure. if not, what does your gauge read?

scanner and gauge reads 20psi.

When unplugged, reads 0. Sensors are good (who needs a new used sensor lol).

It's been reading 20psi for a decade and now it wants to fault. I'm taking a stab in the dark here but I'm going to replace the barbell on the rear motor when i drop the transmission this summer/next month. If i'm feeling it, i'll replace the cam shaft thrust plate up front too (I reused my old one b/c I was running out of time - dumb i know).

is it like suck on 20psi and doesn't move? kinda makes it sound like it's not low oil pressure as much as it's just not doing what expected.
