I have a 2010 Yukon Denali & I was wondering if anyone knew how to stop the horn from beeping whenever I open the door with a key (instead of the remote- this does not happen if I use the remote unlock). This has become very annoying for my husband particularly because he does not keep a remote for my car on his own key chain.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks!!

well I'm not sure about your model since it's a 2010, on mine I can change these options via the on-board computer. ( Using the steering wheel controls )

I assume you mean the horn chirping, the same as it would for locking with the remote, instead of an alarm beep? The 2010 works the same, but instead of steering wheel controls, the controls are to the right of the steering wheel on the dash. Using the buttons on the dash you can specify what happens when the door is unlocked with a key

Sounds like the security system is turned on when you lock the car with the remote and then hubby unlocks with the key and the security system thinks someone is stealing your vehicle until hubby puts the key in the ignition. If you lock with the remote, only push the lock button once. If you push it twice and the horn beeps you are turning on the security system and placing the vehicle in the hubby annoyance mode.
