Wow! How do you find this stuff? Thank you.
when I was shopping for my 2018 Silverado, dealers would never put the information I wanted to know, so after quite a bit of searching I found this GM vin decoder on another forum
it will let you run a few then it will start asking if you are a robot and ask you to enter a capt-ya, when it does that just choose the speaker and have it tell you the code words much easier then clicking boxes over and over, I am sure I entered a couple hundred vins in my search.

also that truck has the backup camera displayed in the rearview mirror, you can buy a adapter that will move it back down to the aftermarket pioneer that has been installed, those usb power ports are aftermarket also, otherwise it looks pretty good from the outside appearance anyway.

Hell, I am old enough. I deserve 2 Tahoe's. I am curious in the differences of the rigs and the handling and if I like the 2009 or the 2008 I looked at tonight and I drive the 2008 on Tuesday or Wednesday and compare, I may decide to get one of either of those and sell my 2002 when I am completely satisfied with the one I may pick. I know I can sell my 2002, if I want to, to 2-3 members at my American Legion. We shall see. Thanks for the info. I hope the seller remembers the old saying, "Money talks and ******** walks". I can pay cash but am always willing to walk away. So far from what I saw of the 2008 and the pics of the 2009, they are both in better shape than what I found during my search about 1.5 months ago. Here is the CL ad for the 2008.

Yea, I looked but it was a 5.3. I am not going to sit back and hang my hat on only going for a 6.2 engine. Besides the displacement, what is the advantage of the 6.2?

That '08 is identical to mine except mine is 2WD and has the moonroof. Drive 'em all, but keep in mind that the '08 has the 4-speed and the '09+ have the 6-speed which is worlds better in city driving and it's a stronger trans. This may not matter to you if you don't tow much and are fine with the 4-speed's gearing. Both transmissions have much more potential with a good tune.

more fun to drive! but the 6.2 is thirsty, there are some 2wd 6.2l out there that aren't as bad though

My 6.2 isn't too thirsty, maybe because I have 4X4 not AWD. I get better mileage in my 6.2 than my 06 Sierra Denali 6.0 (I blame the 4:10's, 4 speed auto, and AWD though). However, before I got the SD, I had an 05 hoe with 5.3 and my 6.2 still did 1-2 mpg better.
