so, as y'all may know I recently did a 4.8 swap on the 07 burb, but my dad just wrecked his 08 Silverado 2500hd with the 6.0 so guess who just got a 6.0? lol will the 6.0 bolt up to my 4l60e? i ask cause the transmission was rebuilt back in Feb. with upgraded internals and clutches so I want to keep my 4l60e. also will the 5.3 computer work with the 6.0? or is it better to use the 6.0 ecu? my truck has ecu and a separate tcu

Good thing you found a 6.0L. GM never built a 4.8L 'bubba for good reason,
yours'd need 4.10 gears to move at a normal pace, and it wouldn't save you any MpGs.

Any '99-'13 4.8L 5.3L 5.7L 6.0L 6.2L or 7.0L, including your 6.0L, will bolt up to your 4L60E.
will the 5.3L ECU work with the 6.0L?
Yes, but not as is, your ecm AND tcm will need to be tuned for the LY6, even if it's just GM OE spec 'tunes'.
Use your ecm, it still has your vehicle's other particulars.

There is a member here that did an L96 swap for a 5.3 but had some challenges finding a tune that would work on his vehicle/ECU but he had the 6L80 IIRC, so maybe it won'tbe an issue the 4L60e operating system/ECU?

Pretty sure it was @SpareParts ? Maybe he can chime in?

I'd question if the 4L60 can handle the 6.0L?
GM answered that question with several GMT800s that pair either LQ4s or LQ9s to 4L65s (M32).
Also don't forget that GM chose to pair LS2s to 4L70s (M70).
Since LY6s are stronger & more powerful than LQ9s, hopefully @07burban88's tune will help to protect his 4L6n ...

what if i took the 6L90, and swapped it over as well?
We both know the 6L90's donor tcm would work with the LY6's ecm ... in an '08 Silverado 2500.
You need to find out if both of those would work with your '07 Suburban.
COMPARE SERVICE NUMBERS, NOT PART NUMBERS!

If you're thinking of trying to swap ecm & tcm without getting tuned, don't be pennywise/dollartarded.
Your ecm & tcm are already GM OE tuned to work with all your vehicle's other various control modules.
LY6 ecm & 6L90 tcm are GM OE tuned to work with an '08 Silverado 2500, NOT an '07 Suburban.

If I'm wrong, best way to be sure of the answer is to ask a tuner,
like BlackBear Performance, or pcmperformance, or pcm of NC in mooresville, for example.
There are several other reputable tuners out there that this forum is not as aware of, some of whom may be closer to you.
