2007 cracked dashboard

I take care of my truck very well and I had it since day one.
I just realized my dashboard cracked on 2 different spots both on the top.
On crack is about 2 inches and other is about 3.5 inches.
Does anybodty else have this issue??
Can anybody suggest what to do at this point.
Truck is out of warranty.

Supposedly, GM is making good on the cracked dashboards. Even after your warranty has expired. It's a very common defect in these vehicles. They crack near the airbag, and they crack near the driver's side hump.

There's a fairly large thread on TYF about this exact issue. I'll try and locate it for you. Being out of warranty, though, you maybe SOL with getting this taken care of by GM.

GM is aware of this issue and trying to help as much as possible. Are you the original owner? And how many miles do you have on the vehicle?

It depends where you are. If you live in a crappy GM region, they will offer you something like 10 or 15% off. However, if you live in a place where complaints run awry, you'll probably get everything free or have to come up with very little, regardless of your warranty or ownership. I live in Kansas City, and they offered me 15%. You can assume what my response was.

I agree it is a joke, but I would rather call around and get it done free now than wait on GM to get there act together and admit they f'ed up on these dashes...

I'm very impatient lol

With that I of course agree. I would do the same, it is just insane that one has to do this in order to get a faulty Product repaired/replaced.

Have both of these cracks, I have heard of GM replacing it but they haven't been helpful with me at all. I even talked to the GM person on this forum an they just stopped replying. Wonder what kind of truck I'll buy next ?

Lol, i beat you by a 15% discount!!

I still rejected it though...I'm not sure my next truck will be GM. I've been thinking something Landcruiserish

I'll definetely buy another GM. Its just that GM needs to stand up and said they Effed up and are going to replace the damn dashboard for free.

Is this caused by sun damage? Cuz I've owned my truck for 5 years since day one and I always use a sunshade in my windshield. No cracks to speak of yet. As I find some wood to knock on.

I think it's not so much the heat, but the fact that the plastic is too thin.

And to make matters, they announced today they are giving all their employees a profit sharing bonus that could be as high as $7,000. I wish they've make our $6,000 and give all of us new dashboards.

Really????? The faithful GM Person Breanne stopped replying? Did you give her your VIN#? Because that's all she ever asks for.

I truly wish she would be banned from this forum.
