Seems like a weird thing to make optional. A running production change I could understand, but as an option, I mean they both provide the same function (opening the glass). How much was the option?

From what I'm gathering, of you had an aluminum tailgate, you got the glass with no handle and if you had metal tailgate, you got one with the handle

View attachment 60155 View attachment 60156 My 2006 Denali xl has it and I hate it. I hate non painted plastic trim. It makes my tailgate look so cheap. I wanna swap it for the color matched escalade third light. Question on that. My tailgate is exactly the same as my neighbors 05 esky esv. Both of our tailgate glass has the exact same small middle handle and shape underneath that upper piece even though mine is plastic with small yukon light and hers has is the esky third light with bast color matched. If I can get ahold of an esky third light, do I still need to swap out the glass too? Or can my tailgate glass stay and just take off my black plastic and put esky third light right onTo my glass?

Ironically pic of mine is not updated as I now have the esky end vents haha. Both were freshly detailed in each pic by me haha. I love being a professional detailer. View attachment 60155

How in the hell did you get the silver color so shiny? Mine doesn't shine like that :( pm me what you used lol. You would not need to swap the window if you get it from a vehicle that has the same type window as you (there are some eskys that do/don't) for a direct fitment. If it isn't a direct fit, then some guys on here use the 3m tape/adhesive. I didn't want to run into those problems, so I just bought the whole liftgate from an Esky lol

Good to know on the tailgate. Is rather not replace the glass of i don't have to do ill make sure I find one with the same glass as mine to pull the third light. Thanx for the info. I'll shoot, you a message about what i use. I run my,own business detailing cars and i started the business because I wanted nothing but the best products to keep my rides looking good. Lol. And I'm white happy with my products. The results are excellent.

That Denali above is friggin KLEEEEEN - very nice.

What about just having the black plastic at the top of the tailgate prepped & painted body color?

Thanx. I'm extremely meticulous with keeping my ride clean. I always want to pull up to a clients location for a detail in a clean ride. Makes me look like I know what I'm doing when I'm working expensive rides like range rovers and Mercedes Benz. Lol. On the third light I like the look of the esky light alot better than what's on my denali. The esky light looks more smooth and clean and finished off in my opinion. Pulls the look of the tailgate together rather than that cheap piece the factory slapped on there.

Agree the Caddy 3rd brakelight is a lot nicer, assuming it's plug N play and mounts up same as what's already on it. Shyt now I want one :D

And I'm the same way as far as keeping my vehicles clean as possible, inside & out, paint waxed, leather conditioned, etc.
Hell I waxed the Tahoe's doorjambs the other day - I guess I'm just an unpaid detailer :)

Nice! I love the feeling of freshly scrubbed and conditioned. and one of my biggest areas I pay good attention to is doorjams. Lol. I've seen alot of guys skip, over jams. Its so little area but makes such a big difference!

Anybody can wash the outside, it's the attention to detail like the door jambs, cup holders, etc.... that really get noticed.

Fortunately I have the kind of personality to pay attention to all those little details because that's how I am when I detail my own cars. I love telling my clients that I'm treating their car as if it were my own and then they look over and see my clean and shining Denali. Honestly that car has been my pride and joy since I bought it a year ago. Its brought in alot of clients because they are impressed with how good it looks for a 2006 and how well maintained I keep it. Still getting the mods I wamt, for,it including that elusive esky third light

That attention to detail is what keeps them coming back to you. Nice work. Those elusive mods have a way of cropping up...and when they do it's like a kid at xmas. I hit the junkyard the other day for some small trim pieces that have been bugging me to replace, but I refused to pay new OEM prices. Found them on a few wrecked models and was stoked. That light will turn up soon.

I have an 06 Denali and I want an 05 rear window. I hate having the handle bolted through the glass on the rear hatch. I want the smooth glass to match my Roll pan and shaved rear wiper...

Shit I'm so nervous now. I think I have the old glass and ordered an esky third. Hope it bolts up and esky had same rear glass as my 05 z71 Tahoe :/

Its Pretty exciting to be 23 and a detailer and have so many returning clients. Yeah the problem for me is that junkyard I have available here in socal just don't stock the newer tables yukon or caddys. Every once in a blue moon I find an 02 Tahoe or yukon. But it's rare. And never a caddy. So I'm stuck paying higher prices on eBay or oem for stuff like the 3rd light.
