I have a really simple question. WTH is the correct speaker size for front and rear door of 2005 Tahoe with Bose?

This question seems to have multiple answers. Even CRutchfield shows 5.25 as well as 6.5 size speakers. Can anyone tell me what size speaker is in the front and rear doors? We're looking to further upgrade the system and I need to know if I need these brackets or not. Don't really wanna drill new holes if not needed. Would love to use the clip in mounts from OE. But its hard to understand what I need or if I can re-use the factory mount with a new speaker, without knowing the size. Can't seem to find a straight answer

6.5” Polk fit in the rear door of my 2001 Yukon, NOT Bose. It was a perfect fit. No drilling. Even used the OEM screws again, except one that I replaced with slightly longer screw and a flat washer.

Not Bose but I think yours is the same.

Front door, I replaced my 21-year old woofers w original equipment replacements recently so I can’t answer except to say it looks like 6.5 to me. The foam surround on original front door woofers was disentegrated. I will eventually go back in and replace the replacements with Polk 6.5” component kit but I have not done that yet. I plan to use the aftermarket clip in bracket, then screw the woofers into the bracket. I should have tried to salvage the 3point clip-in Mount from the original front speakers before trashing them.

Hope this helps. Please post back and let us know what worked on your Bose.

Both front and rear doors are 6.5s. They say 5.25 will work, because they will with an adapter.
As far as using the factory holes, that would depend on the aftermarket speaker and the hole locations for that specific speaker. Sometimes you get 3 out of 4 that line up, sometimes more or less of them do. It's really a buy and try kind of scenario.

Actually, after tons more reading and video watching, I have discovered non Bose are 6.5 both front and rear. Bose on the other hand is 6.5 front, 5.25 rear. Many with Bose have put 6.5 in rear, but it requires modifications.
