Hey Guys, This car seems to hold a batery for no more than one year. I ve been purchasing the most expensive Bosch batteries and the batteries just dies in less than one year. More than 6 batteries were replaced on this car since 2005. Alternator passed the test, but besides that car just stalls sometimes with " REDUCED ENGINE POWER" message, also the other day, it just died on the highway with the check engine light on. The code pulled was:

U0107

P1516 : Command Vs Actual Throttle Position TAC Module

P2108 : Throttle Actuator Control Module Performance

I reset the codes with the OBC Tool and after that no more problems. Today car stalled a couple of times on the highway, i got home, parked. Three hours later, car was dead. No battery att all. I mean not even to light up the smallest Led on the car.

Any thoughts? This is driving me crazy

how is the alternator being tested?

with a oltmeter, one of those handy 'pass-fail' devidces at the auto store, or by an OG tech with a scope, etc.

I'd still be looking at the alternator. That's all it can be, other than a large curent draw, masked by constant usage, or a combo of the two.

true, ever check voltage at the battery at night, when your done driving it for the day, then recheck voltage again, at the battery in the morning before you fire it. See if you loose a ton of voltage at night. Then you can also see if there is a constant current pull on the system at rest.

Humm...

True, I will re-check alternator... But what about the Stalling, RED. ENG. POWER and the OBC Codes? Do you think i am facing two different problems?

Went to a local shop and their alternator test failed.... Well they just tested the voltage, the output was around 13.4V and sometimes the voltmeter would oscilate a little bit. I don't know if they tried to sell me a new one, but since I had no option but trust them, I replaced it. $245 with labor. Right after they finished, the meter was right on the 14V. so far so good, I haven't drive that much yet to test it. The problem was very random. We'll see....

Thanks for all of you
