I recently bought a 2003 Tahoe and have no complaints except 1. I can hear a ticking sound coming from the dash area (at least it sounds like around the dash area). I turned off all heater/AC controls and I still can hear it. It sounds like when you turn on your turn signal, except not as loud and maybe a little faster paced. Hopefully its something thats a fairly simple fix.

if the hot or cold setting is set all the way try moving it back just slightly if it is a blend door that should stop it, if it does stop the sound then a actuator may need to be replaced, not a complicated fix a couple small tools and you can diy.

Like Wes said. Sounds like it doesn't recognized it is "parked" and keeps trying to cycle. Maybe unhook the battery for 15 minutes and see what happens when you hook back up.

Could be bad actuator (which is common) or a bad stepper motor in instrument cluster (which is also common). Are all your gauges working in the cluster?
