Hey tgui, what's the trick in getting that dang flex fuel filter off? I bought that red OTC tool you showed and I can get it under the quick connect fitting but I can't get the fitting pulled down over the tool to release the clips.
Any advice?
Shoot. All I remember is that I had to bend and twist that tool into place, one side then the other. I had to pull back on the filter to make room I think as well. Then it was a matter of cussing and pushing the adapter forward with a long screw driver as a lever. In a fit of anger I tried yanking things apart again and the filter came off!
I've heard that shops sometimes skip what I did and just cut the filter out with large snips. I certainly would give this a shot, just dont grind it off... since gasoline and sparks are baaaad.... mmmmmmkay!
