2002 TAHOE IDLE PROBLEM

i have a 2002 Tahle Z71 with a 450hp rebuilt Summitt racing 5.3l engine with under 10 miles. The rebuild included new fuel injectors, new throttle body, spark plugs and wires. Recently the truck will not idle at start. It will run only after pushing the accelertor pedal on and off. No codes are shown. My mechanic has checked just about everything he can think of - fuel pressure, O2 sensors, MAF, gas quality, spark plugs and wires. Can anyone think of anything else that could be causing this problem?

Are you saying that it cranks but won't start, until you push the accelerator down a bit? Or?

And is the throttle body still drive by cable (dbc)?

When the electronics were connected, do a CASE relearn? Just a WAG...

No, it will start but won't continue to run unless the accelerator is constantly pushed up and down. Once it warms it will run, but will not idle once turned off and restarted.

Has it been tuned? Computer doesn't see the factory values.

the 02 has a IAC (idle air control) valve on the side of the throttle body, remove it and the clean heck out of it and the area inside where it sits.
if it has never been cleaned it will be all caked up with black carbon, once it has been cleaned after a couple restarts it should self relearn idle.
**also if the thought crosses your mind to just buy a replacement, don't waste your time there are hundreds of different ones and none will work right unless you find a decent used one directly off of a 00-02 throttle body.
