2002 suburban factory radio locked

I have a 2002 Chevy Suburban 1500 I just got done having a lot of work done to my truck only to find out that my radio is now locked. It is the original Delco radio. GM used to have a 1-800 number you could call and it would take all of 10 minutes and they would give you an unlock code but I guess that number has been disconnected. I spent the better part of the day yesterday calling GM as well as seeing if the shop my truck got out of would be able to unlock the radio, they could not figure it out. I have the six digit scrambled code. I'm seeing if there is anybody on here that is able to help me out.
I have searched the Glove compartment and I have searched my owner's manual and all of the paperwork I have for the truck hoping to come across the unlock code for the radio with no such luck. I know I could just go by a new stereo and upgrade it but that's not what I want to do I like my original stereo I just like listening to the radio I'm not a fan of Bluetooth I just want my original radio back

Not sure if this helps, but I have an '02 Tahoe and recall the code being 0201... it's been along time since I replaced it, and don't remember if that was a factory code or I somehow reprogrammed it.

I actually just ended up pulling the eprom. It doesn't keep presets but the radio works as it should

Hey! Been there, those old Delco radios can be a pain


Since you already have the 6-digit scrambled code, you're actually halfway there. Unfortunately, GM doesn’t really offer that old phone service anymore, so your best bet now is using an online decoder.


You can try www.radiocodepro.com — they specialize in unlocking GM/Delco radios. Just enter your code and see if it generates the unlock code for you. A lot of people have had success with it.


If that doesn’t work, another option is a local dealership — sometimes they can still retrieve the code using the VIN, though they might charge you.


Hope you get your original radio back up and running — totally get wanting to keep it stock

Is this a chip inside the radio that plugs in? When new these radios don't have a code set (our 2001 didn't). Maybe a replacement chip would get you back to 100%?

Those radios are cheap used and rarely locked.
You could try another dealer but I'd the one couldn't do it don't have too high a hope.
