2001 Z71 4x4 not working

Good Morning Guys,
This weekend I tried to put my Tahoe into 4 wheel drive for the first time in a long time. It won't go in to 4 wheel drive and a message comes up Service 4WD. Any ideas on what might be causing it before I take it to the mechanic or dealer and get a huge labor bill? Didn't know if it was something simple or not.

Common problem is a leaking seal on the actuator tube where the right cv axle mounts. How does yours look? No fluid = no actuation.
