2/25/19 got a little snow on the valley floor. My buddy got new mirrors for his duramax so out of curiosity I threw his old tow mirrors on just to see what they looked like. Well they came off faster than they went on I’ll tell you that much not for me haha.

Yeah I fixed it. I’ll be getting to that point here shortly on the build thread. Have a few more things before it though.

3/24/19. Local audio show/comp was going good until I get again played too low of frequency below my enclosure tuning. Separated the surrounds off the frame on 4 of my subs. Luckily it’s A easy fix. Bad thing is I am running out of time before the Reno trip. Still had a little fun demoing before they separated though.

4/8/19 Checking over things for the Reno trip and realized my wheel bearings had a good amount of play. So got those swapped out and cleaned the engine some. Also took that heat wrap off the intake tube.

4/11/19-4/14/19 sky high bbq v.5 in Reno! Trip went great. Had a lot of fun. Met A few car audio “celebrities” and also was able to make a good impression with the owner of dc audio (their headquarters is in sparks). At least I think I made a good impression haha.

Should have done black stickers long before. So much better and more low key.

5/5/19 grabbed some perfect match and sprayed the speaker grilles the neon green was too much.

5/15/19 finally taking care of the squat for good. Threw in some air lift helper air bags. Went inside the coil quite easily and ran the lines to separate valves hidden under the back bumper. Also ordered some spec d tail lights to get rid of the now faded and cracked candied factory tails.

5/18/19 got some vip motoz led license plate lights. They are insanely bright. Puts a 10ft line of light off each side of the Tahoe at night. Speaking of night here is a night pic

5/18/19 found this Hd grille on marketplace for 40 bucks. Deal. Had to strip all the chrome off though since it was peeling

5/18/19 got some vip motoz led license plate lights. They are insanely bright. Puts a 10ft line of light off each side of the Tahoe at night. Speaking of night here is a night pic View attachment 235827

Yeah I did unfortunately the chrome was chipping and cracked though. Once you take the chrome plating off these they lose a lot of strength.

5/20/19 ordered a HD bumper cap off amazon and it finally came in. Still have to paint the grille but wanted to get the bumper done. Cut the frame horns off and re welded them about a inch to 1 1/4 in. Can’t remember exact but basically I cut the horns off, bolted them back to the bumper and set it where I wanted to close up as much of the gap as possible. Tacked the brackets, un bolted the bumper and welded them in fully. The side supports I was able to just drill a hole right below the factory one and run a bolt/nut on that. Now just got to finish the grille and get it on! Nice gap with the stock grille haha

Hoe'd you get the chrome off?

I started where that chip was and used a razor scraper to chip it all off. Wasn’t the most fun and made a mess to be honest.

5/23/19. Grill is painted! Used perfect match paint on the emblem and border of the mesh. Black on the center bar and mesh. Love the way it turned out except the paint matched emblem blends too much in my opinion so I’m gonna change that.

6/8/19 mounted my DC send it button and wired it to the amps. Now I can turn them on when I want them on instead of them constantly running. The Reno trip was fun with that because the 8 hr drive against the back of the seat they were getting hot and I had to keep turning my loud fans on which got annoying. Re did the plate so it is just plain black now as well.

6/12/19 my billet bow tie emblem and airaid MIT came in. Now I feel like the emblem stands out too much. Ugh. I’ll figure something out with that.

6/9/19. Started looking for rear captains. Had a lead on a couple but they fell through. Then I found this black leather set for 100 bucks out of a 08 tahoe. Pulled my bench out and went to meet the guy to check if they fit. Direct swap bolted right in! They sit taller than the generation correct seats but that’s alright. I like the way these fold compared to 00-06 captains. They sit back a touch farther than the bench though which made it extra tight to my amps unfortunately. I originally wanted them for the fact I could put the amps in the center but hadn’t planned on changing it just yet. Well my ocd told me no and I moved everything so the seats would operate properly. Also bugged me that they were black leather and I’m not the biggest fan of leather anyways so I ordered charcoal coverking seat covers front and rear. Took about a month to come in but made them match and look a lot better. The back covers fit amazing the fronts aren’t terrible but the fact I have seatbelts, armrests and side air bags I wasn’t expecting a perfect fit.

Need to swap that airaid jr. tube to the one for efans now!
