I’m not exactly sure on that. Luckily I have a few good wrecking yard sources local Incase anything happens to a switch or something. When my buddy sent his stuff over a piece of tape in the package accidentally got stuck to the climate control and broke the center screen cover off, so I had to go get him a new cover, and also a steering wheel button and fog light switch cause his were worn out. I haven’t figured out if I want to start doing this all the time on the side. Right now I have done all mine, rebuilt a buddies cluster and now doing a fully loaded Tahoe LT set of switches for my buddies Tahoe. My main worry is being liable for stuff breaking or leds going out etc. I might be down to start doing more in the near future but as of for now i need to get a bench setup for testing everything and being able to find the polarity without having to use a friends truck to do so. I will just have to let you know On it after I can get those things ironed out. Basically I’m in the r&d stages of this right now and need to build up my confidence level with them before I get in over my head. being able to juggle a full time job, doing stuff like this, audio competitions, and still have spare time for family and what not is another concern.
This is a pretty labor intensive project. And I can certainly see where a problem would come in when an led that’s supposed to last 10 or 20 years fails in 6 months, and then you’ve got to ship it back, replace ship... yeah. I could see that being a PITA.

Yeah that’s a lot of it. I’m using amazon leds currently that are 50 for 12 bucks I have only had them in mine for a little while and I’m not sure if they will last a super long time or not. They should but there always is the what if’s. There are already more than a few places that do led or color conversions as well. As of tonight I finished up my buddies Tahoe switches. First time doing 03-06 interior switches but I’m around 15-20 hours from start to finish over 3 days. I’m sure if I did it a lot I could probably cut that time in half easily. Especially now that I know tricks to do it quicker, polarity of all the switches, and what not to do. That’s the biggest part of it though is labor intensive and tedious work that I’m doing after working a full day of my normal job lol

Yep. Sounds about right. I spent about 3 days doing mine, and stopped after the driver door switch because I’m not happy with those. So looking for some smd LEDs to replace them.

I used 3mm on the driver door switch. Just used a 1/8” drill bit to open the holes and the leds sat in there perfect. They turned out really good the mirror adjuster is brighter than the rest is all from there not being any type of diffuser behind it.

That’s a thought. I used 3 mm as well, but they’re squared off. Didn’t think about drilling them out. I may do that. They’re in the perfect position under the board but still aren’t as bright as I’d like.

the squared ones are the 360° bulbs aren’t they? I flattened out a couple on the climate control and seat heater switches to give it a more even light overall. Cause the round ones I have are basically more of a spot beam. The squared 360° ones were like a buck a piece where I found them. Not cheap by any means.

Finally got a nice day and was able to grab a couple pictures. The door handles look awesome but I really need to get my mirrors paint matched now it’s bothering me lol.

I said last week that my buddy who I’m doing all the Tahoe switches for surprised me by sending something as part of payment. Something I have been searching for for 4 years....

Opened the box to his switches and he tucked away these without telling me. APC oem style clear corners. I am beyond excited and still kind of shocked. I know they are just corner lights but I absolutely love these and have always wanted them since I got my Tahoe.

Got some spec d lights that actually have a deeper passenger side housing because it was bothering me so bad how the passenger projector was so close to the lens. Swapped them out pretty easily. Used the brackets from my depo housings though the spec d ones were flimsy and cheap feeling. After getting them aligned twice(first with the spec d brackets, then with the depo brackets) they still have more of a gap underneath compared to before. Something about these though they don’t fit as nice and probably no one will notice it but me. Oh well the projectors fit a lot better and now are even on both sides. Maybe it’ll bug me enough to try a different brand housing one day. For now Gonna leave it the way it is. I’ll try to grab a better picture during the day to show the gap.

Look good from here. I had to use my oem brackets also. Bought the Spec D's, and like you said--brackets are cheap n flimsy. I have a similar gal as you do. Just gotta learn to just walk away sometimes.
Do yourself a favor and run a thin bead of silicone are the inner edge of your lights, along with some dialectic grease on the bulb gaskets. If not, they're GUARANTEED to fog.

okay will do. They seemed to seal up a lot better when I baked the lenses back on at least so I was happy about that. I drove it last night work and so far they haven’t fogged but it was a short trip so we shall see. My depos I was constantly fighting them fogging lol. At least they are even with the big gap haha.

Just read this entire thing, well looked at all the pictures at least. Awesome build! Not many high mile trucks that look nearly brand new.

thank you very much it’s been a pain in my ass for the past 4 years now lol. It is in pretty decent shape for the mileage I need to get it cut and buffed bad though

Mine could probably benefit from the same honestly

Damn exhaust tip fell off at some point within the last week. I guess I can’t be to mad about it though because it sounds better now. It was a resonated tip and actually did affect more than I thought it would have. I never was the biggest fan of it though anyways it was a black 3.5” but looked tiny. I think I might need a 4” one but I don’t want it to look like a damn garbage can hangin off haha. Guess I’ll need to stop by the local exhaust shops to see what I can find. Also took of my LS d pillar badges last night and the green sticker. Looks much better now
