have the 2000 escalade with the push button 4wd, im towing my bagged 02 silverado ext cab to a show this weekend. There is no tow haul button or overdrive button ofcourse, should i drive it normal, put it in 4hi, or what to tow such a heavy load?

You can put it in "3" and it won't use overdrive.

You have trailer brakes right?

only use 4wd as it pertains to traction of your own vehicle traction not to to tow another. that being said, 4lo can be used to reduce the torque stress on tranny and engine. just don't over due it on towing capacity. 4hi will not really help compared to 2wd. regardless do not use 4l or hi on the freeway unless road conditions require it and don't take 4lo at fast highway speeds it will just hurt you more.

i should add that for your vehicle do not exceed 3 tons total towed weight. 600lbs of that can be be tongue weight on the vehicle frame itself and as mentioned you need trailer brakes. drive carefully.

well as it was mostly interstate it and a little bit of city it pulled just fine, if i was in the city, accelerating to get on the interstate, or going up hills i put it in 3 but once i got up to speed i put it back in OD and it did awesome, got pretty decent mileage as well, thanks for the input

not really. as long as you don't have it cycling all the time and it stays in gears like your not towing it wont hurt that much. More fluid maintenance is needed tho.
