i think i am selling my 2 12" AQ SDC2.5 to a buddy and i am looking to get some bigger subs. I am considering getting either 2 AQ SDC2.5 15" or 1 AQ HDC18 copper coil. I have an AQ1200D amp that will be powering the sub(s). Which of these of the combos would louder?

you'll never know unless you try both.. 2 15's is more cone so on the same power, in theory the 2 15's should get louder but the HDC18 is a better woofer so it could be more efficient

I was running 1 Fi BL 18 on a Rockford Fosgate t1k and I hit a 145.7db so its possible for that 1 18 to be louder

either way you are running some great products!!

i'd do 2 hdc3 15's on 2 aq 1200 strapped @ 1ohm each amp would be seeing a .5 ohm load
i run my aq2200 strapped @ .5 ohm daily all day long

id run 2 hdc15's with at least 4000rms...
the new aq3500.1 does 4200rms which it perfect.

or step up to something stronger like dc level4xl's...with at least 4000rms as well...

I would love to run anything at 4000 watts but I don't have the funds for an amp or amps that could do it. I think I am leaning towards the 18" HDC3 because there is more upgrade potential later on when I do have more money to put into it. That and I have never heard a good sounding 18 all I've heard are cheap ones in shit boxes and I know i can build a box to make it sound good.

you'll be surprised.. you can get a true 4000+rms for as low as 400 used 550 new
the hifonics 2610 will do plenty and strap a pair of them...5000+rms for $550
gotta friend that wants 4 in his truck with 4 15s...over 10k rms (of course with the elec.system to back it up

a aq1200 will piss off a hdc18

The aq1200 should do decent enough.. the subs are rated for 1000 rms and im just running the copper coil for a daily beater i don compete or anything so the 12-1300 watts rms at 1 ohm should be ok i would think

i should be enough for your daily use unless you are like me, i beat my system to death going down the road and then when i get to a good chill spot i open the hatch and let it rip. whenever i get enough funds i gonna find a good used dd 9518 and sundown saz-3500 and run it @ 2ohms and call it a day.

conservatively rated. the 18s you should give at least 2000rms to to get um going. it'll be aight with 1200rms but wont impress you the way you thought it was gonna hit

Didn't want to start another thread for this so ill just put it in here...Does anyone know how accurate the WinISD program is very accurate? more so with the port length measurements than the SPL calculations but basically is any of it right or even fairly close?
