12736813 Starter doesnt fit 2015 6.2l yukon denali

oem starter seemed to be going out so I checked ac delco, and a couple dealership online parts companies for the correct starter. All came up with

12736813 Starter​

for a new starter.

Trying to get it installed. But it wont seem to fit. It is a little different than the oem one. The "hood" that goes over the starter gear isnt recessed like the original one.

Am I just not aligning it right or have others found issues with this part number?

2015 gmc yukon denali xl 6.2L 8 speed....

ACDelco talks about casting number variations but they all eventually reference the number given above by me at GMPG.
