Not sure if it's been done but I figured I would post and see if I could get any opinions/suggestions to improve. This is a rough draft and I take no responsibility for what anyone does to their vehicles. I purchased a cheap wireless charger off eBay and then had the idea of putting it in the Tahoe (like the newer ones). I took the top of the console apart and cut two holes one for the led and one for the wires to go through. Using small screws I attached the board and charger piece. I routed the power cord down the side and under the console to a fuse and then ignition power. Open to options and suggestions tell me what you think. Biggest problem I'm having is with the black plastic/rubber piece staying on when I open the console. I'm not to worried about heat I drove around with it charging for awhile and it got no warmer than expected but I was thinking about cutting breather holes in the bottom.

Make sure you have full coverage. Everyone and their brother uses crimp connectors with 1000 splices these days.

That's a great idea for our trucks. And it changes through the rubber piece on the console?

Yes. The rubber piece on the lid is actually thinner than the plastic pieces on the original unit.

Wow genius. I would steal this idea but I don't think my ancient s5 is compatible lol.

I've been thinking of doing the exact same thing but in a different car. I drive "spirited" though so I'd want to put some kind of barrier around the sweet spot so that the phone can't slide off the charger when taking turns or when hitting bumps.

I know that another manufacturer offers a cut your own charging pad to custom fit that rectangular cut out instead of using the round samsung one....looking forward to this one.
Also did you just use the serria Denali armrest to get that peice?

So, how did this turn out long term? I am doing the same trick with what looks like the same charger...
