Change out the gas struts with OEM or Strongman brand, and your issue will be resolved. I went through this myself on my 07 about 6 months ago.

I removed the struts last night, one moved freely when compressed, the other one wouldn't budge. I have new ones on the way. Damn torx bolts! 1 stripped the head, (not hardened worth a damn) I barely got it out. Stealership wants almost $7.00 each! In the mean time I'll check the thread pitch and go to the hardware store for a Phillips head replacement. Stay Tuned!

Exactly what I was gonna say. There are no bolts to undo. Spring clips at each end. You literally only need a pick or a small flat blade screwdriver, to remove and to install requires no tools at all.

I wish I had known that, I only watched part of a video prior to taking them out!

I explained that all you had to do was lift the c clip................then they come right offI wish I had known that, I only watched part of a video prior to taking them out!
when putting the new ones on they just pop on you do not have to lift the c-clip

Thank you all for your input, I got the new struts and put them in. The hatch/end gate is now back to working like it should! Consider this thread done, stick a fork in it! Thanks again!
