In our changing '08 Tahoe coolant I partially unfastened and deflected the front inner fender liner and found two different push pin types that hold the liner. Unfortunately they did not all survive the removal.

Anyone know a source and part numbers for the push pins? The parts diagrams that I've found are not very descriptive and not helpful.

Go to www.clipsandfasteners.com and look for GM push type clips. There’s a couple that are common. You can buy a whole bag for less than the price of a couple of the OEM ones.

Here’s the only ones I’ve needed on my 02 Denali and 08 Silverado. There might be one or two of the other type that just pushes in and doesn’t have a pin but I got those at the parts store I think. These work for the wheel well liners and the core support cover under the hood. I have never broke one but if they get a little bunged up from r&r then I replace them. I like them to look new.

Thanks.
That looks like one of them. The other looks like a headed single barbed spike with no slider. I have no idea shy there were different ones used.

Ah yes. Christmas tree type, that’s what I was trying to think of. Yeah, those I got at the help! section.

Help Section? Never saw such a thing here.
Having briefly looked on line there seem to be a myriad of diameters and lengths for both types. That is the hurdle.

Here’s the OEM that Rocket Man mentioned...

I got a set of cheap ones on Amazon, but each time I go and remove them they break. I’ll probably try the site Rocket Man suggested once all of mine break.

Look at all those pin numbers on that GM diagram.

As far as the cheap ones, all of my original GM ones failed on removal but then it might be due to 12 years of exposure.

Just buy the ones I showed you from clipsandfasteners. That’s the only size of those you need, and takes care of 95% of what you need. The others are just the Christmas tree type and there’s only one or 2 sizes, they’re kind of forgiving and they go by hole diameter. This isn’t a difficult thing.

I can pretty much guarantee your local auto parts store has the same display or a section in store like every auto parts store in America ive been in has, but order online...........its faster and easier to wait.

Here’s the cheap set I ordered from Amazon...

The good thing about this set is the variety and they hold well. But dang it...most of the tops peel right off when I try and relieve the pressure. I then need to drill them out.

Glad I remembered about this thread as my supply is running low and will be ordering the ones @Rocket Man suggested.
