Well i dont know. Im trucker and place where i park my Tahoe when i go on the road is some trucking company parking lot that we all pay for parking our trucks and trailers. I have no idea that someone wanna fwak with 6.6" 350 lbs trucker who happened to be gun lover with CCW. Go figure. I tought it was guy 2 spots from me since he hated me from last year when he backed into my bumper guard on my Volvo. He end up paying cash so he dont go thru insurance and i told him, if you mess with my truck or Tahoe, im not going to harm your truck, ill harm enyone thats around you when i found you. But it wasnt him since he was on the rod when this happened. I guess thats Bosnian thing, we dont like when someone mess with our vehicles. If i ever found who did this sh#t he is done
I think a few more truck got demages in same time, so i dont know if i was targeted.
Im gonna install camera that turn on by it self if someone is close to the vehicle like i have one on my truck
You're not impressing anyone with bravado. At any rate, thats not even close to 10k in damage pictured. 5500 could get that in oem shape.

Today i spoke with insurance company and they wanted to write it off. I told them i wanted to have it fixed. They think its LT model by the v # and since i rebadge it there is no LTZ emblem on my Tahoe. So i had to call local GM dealer and have them email me bild sheet so i can prove insurance that i have LTZ or how GM call it LTZ package/s. Damn. I do miss State Farm

Since im waiting on insurance i played little bit with removing rear wiper arm and lift gate handle just to see who would look without it. Lift gate handle was easy to remove once you remove panell off. 4 10mm nuts, 2 plastic clips, disconnect connector and came off easy. Wiper arm is different story. Wiper rm is stuck for good on wiper motor rod. Tried pounding little bit but wont give up even with PB Blaster. Rod is soft material so bent easy. Only way to remove it is to cut the wiper motor rod behind wiper arm

Here is one pics how lookd like without lift gate handle

Yesterday i got call from insurance again. Since i send insurance build sheet that i got from local GM dealer lady told me its Tahoe is repairable because now they know its LTZ and worth much more than they thought. So now they want me to go to the "their" body shop. I was like hold your horses. Let me see estimate that your appraiser made last week. So she send me estimate that should have $10600. And yeah it was $10600 minus $500 and another $1600 for betterment or code B50% how they use on paper. I asked why, was there any prior demges, she said no but mister if we paint whole carr its gonna be in better shape than before. I told her i insured this and my other vehicles because agent told me they use new parts on claims and so on. I was like why do i pay full coverage if you cant give me full repair. She couldnt answer it. So now its $8500. I was gonna ask them why they didnt include demaged plastic trim and some weatherstrips but now im getting even less. Once again i do miss State Farm. Ill be going back to the State Farm once this claim is done

Law (at least here in Texas) you can have your vehicle repaired at whatever shop you wish. You must have some fly by night insurance company.

I take all my cars to the respective dealership for body work and paint. And nowhere else.

Nice vehicle, to bad there are a$$h*)#s in this world that can not leave other peoples property alone.

I would take whatever the insurance company gave me and have the vehicle repainted.

I would also find a more secure place to park.

I'd fix the plastic pieces and then have it liquid wrapped. It would save you a ton of cash and you'd have left money for additional mods.

Sooo, after 2 months fighting with insurance, 2 weeks ago i finaly drop Tahoe at body shop. Body shop found more demages and now insurance says its pass 75% and they wanna total it. They give me 2 options. Paid it full $17k or $11.5k and keep Tahoe.
Body shop wont do it no less than $12.8k so if i wanna keep it i will have pay body shop about $1300 out of my pocket.
My wife keep telling me move on and put $17k on newer LTZ but every time i look local dealers 11-13 goes $30-40k
Im tired of payments and i dont wanna another 36 months worth of payment.
I was gonna spend another $1k on some custom body work since original plan was to fix it, plus i have a lot of new parts invested in Tahoe in last 12 months and now i dont know wehat to do

And no no plastic dip or wrap please

Before you give them an answer get some solid estimates from some other body shops. When you go make sure you tell them the story. A body shop with an insurance company is going to throw the highest number they can come up with at the insurance company to try and get the most bang for thier buck. A different body shop that knows they have to come up with a number lower than 11k to get the job might be more inclined to cut you a nice deal.

Well since looks like not whole lot shops want mess with full body strip and repaint so yes, every shop i went wants $10k+

The thing is even if i end up fixing it and try trade in for something newer i dont thing i can get more than 13-14k. So why waste money, or maybe not. I dont know.

You REALLY need to let it go. Keeping it is just a bad financial decision.

You'll fall in love with another one as well. But to keep this one you are literally throwing money away
