Looking for other ideas for these awesome eagle eye leds. While I had the hatch plastics off to remove the wiper (oh yea btw I removed the wiper) I wanted to add some light in the rear....like some serious light.
So I did this. Will have power by this weekend. But for now they're mounted and ready for hookup.

Pioneer AVH-....POS lol.
It's ok for a basic deck but I kick myself for not stepping up to a nicer one.
It randomly turns off and restarts sometimes. I have no idea why. Need to bench test it.

Makes a big difference in sound. It's like it finally breathes life into these bose speakers.....remember the owner before was an old geezer so these speakers were never abused. Don't worry I'm still getting aftermarket sub and amp later

I have got the same deck and it does the same exact thing. I have also found it to be a bit slow on responding to simple tasks like changing the track when hooked up to my iPod and pulling up the phone directory via BT. But I say for the money, you cant really beat it. I will for sure be up grading when I get a good 800 bones to throw at it though.

Next up.
Checked out the Swiss cheese mod but instead wanted to do my own functional ram air mod.

Sad part is I only need about a foot of this 8 foot drain piece. Eh only $1 a foot, I'll find a project around the house to use the rest.

4" drain tubing routed to the bottom of the bumper. 4" deck drain. Shopvac foam filter surround.

Did you get the bypass switch for that head unit to make the DVD work without having to deal with the e brake.

Yea I paid $150 for mine new at my last job with employee discount. But I don't work there anymore so I gotta save up some big money for a new deck now too.
The plan was to upgrade and throw this one in the wife's car, but she would've been pissed if she's jamming out and it just shuts off on her, and rightfully so. So back to square one when the time comes.
Haven't played around too much with the USB and aux because I hardly drive this thing. Steering wheel controls work great. Haven't tested the cd player. And it is on the slow side when starting up.

Haven't checked the DVD player. But that is on the list. I'm all about watching movies while driving.

How it sits on the mounting plate that I painted

Sandwich the two 4" drain plates together with the shop vac filter between.
20160320_024316.jpg

20160320_025933.jpg

Tight fit, 3" would be an easier fit but 4" is snug.
Everything is stock so no noticeable improvements on anything (mpg, hp)
Next is a Jr kit and I think that will make a difference, followed by other intake upgrades. Also trying to think of how to make a ducting piece at the bottom for ram air induction. Wanna change the tubing to something non ribbed....any ideas guys?
Don't know if it will make a difference but I was just messing around. Everything here cost less than $15 so why not

Time to finish running the wire.
20160412_000815.jpg

You can see the small white wire routed
20160412_023543.jpg

getting through the boot. Remove the rubber boot to reveal the plastic housing that just unclips. Pretty straight forward.

I disconnected the washer fluid hose on both sides of the boot for more room to run the wire. I looked all over for my trusty coat hanger but couldn't find it and improvised. I almost hand pushed the wire thru the washer fluid hose but it got jammed. So hose removed and wire in its place. Disconnect the wire harness for easy access.

Sneek peek of the light show. Not fully wired through the headliner and to the dome light yet. Will finish last bit up tomorrow with better pics.
Very bright and very pleased on the look and the function of the lights!

Also removed the roof rack and window vent visors.

Gonna clean these up and sell them. Probably get in-channel vents later, but for now I like the clean look without them.

watch that wiring harness cover in the back now that you have broken the seal. That's where my leak was in the rear and I had to seal mine up with silicon.

Same here. I sealed everything I could find. I had a ton of water pour in during a rainstorm before hand.

Yea in fact I was gonna do that today while I finished fishing the wire through headliner tonight. I know how these seals can get. Easy 5 minute job.
Thanks for the heads up tho guys.
