Installed the shocks. Cleaned up the inner fender wheel well liners. Used simple green and scrubbed them down then rinsed and applied some Back to Black to bring a little life back to them.

Seen a puddle inside my led taillight
As I mentioned before its a good idea to put a bead all around the edge of aftermarket lights. But also look at connecting points (sockets, screws, brackets) because those I've noticed are the most common issues for leaks and foggy lenses. You can see the back side where the reflector is glued in, the glue is old and dried up. Stuuuuupid design and they're almost all like that. Brought the tail inside to dry it out for a day or two. Rockin the red halogen tails as a back up set.

Free travel mod looks good! Way better than seeing the bump stop. Also nice job at cleaning everything up back there. I need to do the same. Those eagle eyes are great so much output!

Well wifes 2 brothers and 3 kids finally made it to America from the Philippines after a long 7 year wait of processing and paper work.View attachment 219723I made that sign by hand, no big deal :hands:

I was able to introduce them to playstation 4 for the very first time, they've never seen or touched one before. View attachment 219724

So now it's not just me and the wife rolling in the tahoe. I pack everyone in and have been taking them to the social security office, DMV, other immigration errands to get their papers and documents situated.
With all that weight and major dips and pot holes after breakup and from that 7.0 earthquake I've been slapping the frame ******* a few of those dips. So free travel mod time.
Put my brother to work.

Busted out the sawsall. Drivers side sucks to cut with the tank in the way and with springs in place.

They are here for good to start new lives. Theres nothing to offer in the Philippines. It's basically like Mexico. 3rd world country....bad medical help, bad pay, bad crime, bad diseases, I've been there, not exactly a place you want to live. Maybe retire. But not to raise kids and try to provide for a family off a $1 an hr wage.

Well that's awesome, man. Tell 'em welcome to their new home and we're really glad to have 'em!

So I scratched the idea of painting the z71 grille and instead finally decided to dig into the street scene grille I’ve had for 2 years. Tired of looking at it in the shed and always wanted to see it finished. The issue was the previous owner painted it with lead smurf paint. So i would have to remove all of it and start over. Here’s some pics to jog the memory

I just prepared myself and started on it over the weekend. It sucked would be an understatement for sanding lead paint. Parts of it that were cracked or chipped were rusted. I tried not to sand down through the protective gel coat into the raw fiberglass but there were a few spots that I did. So I sprayed it with a 2K primer filler because it’s a rapid set with the hardener mixed in just like the 2K clear does , so the base will have something to stick to and it will dry before it has a chance to soak into the raw fiberglass . So here’s a Pro tip - after some research about painting fiberglass I learned that you can’t just lay normal primer or base because it will soak into the pours of the raw fiberglass.
