Well wifes 2 brothers and 3 kids finally made it to America from the Philippines after a long 7 year wait of processing and paper work.

I made that sign by hand, no big deal :hands:

I was able to introduce them to playstation 4 for the very first time, they've never seen or touched one before.

So now it's not just me and the wife rolling in the tahoe. I pack everyone in and have been taking them to the social security office, DMV, other immigration errands to get their papers and documents situated.
With all that weight and major dips and pot holes after breakup and from that 7.0 earthquake I've been slapping the frame ******* a few of those dips. So free travel mod time.
Put my brother to work.

Busted out the sawsall. Drivers side sucks to cut with the tank in the way and with springs in place.

Today was a busy day. Drivers side was hard to get the blade to start at a good angle so I started from the rear near the compressor. Angled up the went across towards the front and the where the gas tank is. (I'll get the part number of the blade I used tomorrow)

Nice work on that free teavel mid. And congratulations on getting the family here. Big steps after such a long wait.

My wife just became a USA citizen last Friday. She was sworn in and it is official finally.
Thanks it's a boring mod that nobody notices but it makes a huge difference, so I've heard. Haven't drove it yet.

And yea my wife is still an alien lol. Goal is to get her citizenship this year.

Next removed the inner fender wheel wells.
2 plastic trim push pins, 3 7mm bolts on the front and 3 on the rear, drivers side same as passengers.

Removed factory autoride shocks to be replaced by generic basic KYB gas shocks. They seem super small in comparison but the part numbers (344381 front, 344384 rear) on numerous sites fit 03 tahoe 4wd so I guess I'll send it.
Wired brushed and cleaned up the spots I hit with the grinder and decided to go full retard and do the whole frame and and a few other parts while I was under there.

I'm curious how the shocks will hold up in a yr. Had them and that's about how long they lasted me--if that. Not trying to rain on your parade, just my experience.

Well they're not installed yet. Waiting for paint to dry over night. They were basic and cheap but still a household name. Paid $45 each locally. Honestly I just wanted those blown air shocks out asap. Later I can splurge on some bilsteins or monroes.
Plus dont Jersey roads suck?

But you're saying they do fit ? Lol

Removed the compressor. Thing was toast. 3 torques bit to remove then unplug harness. For the cage theres two 1/2" bolts on one side and a another that has to be reached through the back side of the frame. Looking at the harness I can tell this thing was messed with or replaced at one point so the one bolt on the back side of the frame I believe was put in backwards. Harness was laying on top of the bracket/cage instead of ran through the access hole underneath it. This state is full of hack jobs.
Either way pretty simple uninstall

Follow the same steps I used for the frame underneath the door area from 2 years ago and its held up great.
One coat of rust reformer followed by 2 coats of undercoating, both found at home depot.
