Been meaning to get tint for awhile, just hard to schedule with a shop. fronts matching factory rears. perfect for me, not too dark.

Busy still working on left over house projects from summer, and now its the holidays. So hopefully next will be PTM denali bumper and grille and esky vents and rack, but probably not till after the new year. I'll paint them myself, if I had the extra cash i would just send them to a shop and have them done already. but it's all good, I prefer to have only my hands touch her and give her the tender loving care rather than strangers anyway lol.
.... that and I usually do better work too

I wonder how dark it would be if you put the tint on top of the factory tint?

Depends on how dark you want to go? I put 5% all around and a windshielf strip and it is dark for sure. Even putting 15% over the factory rear is going to make it dark back there, even with those big ass side and lift gate windows.

I think I'd like to do that, just for the rears, and leave my fronts as is. My fronts are kind of light, don't know what the % is tho.

Do it, changes the whole appearance of a vehicle as you can tell. ...

I wonder how dark it would be if you put the tint on top of the factory tint?

Later I will go blacked out limo on the very back 2 rears, and probably the hatch glass once I get a backup camera. (which come to think about are dirt cheap and i should order one on cyber Monday lol)
But I'll leave the 4 fronts alone and maybe do a 50% on the windshield later too.

It's just that cops have nothing better to do but write tint tickets up here so I'll expect tickets, and Ill fight them and still pay part of the fine,...is what it is.

But yet the past year though cops have been pretty busy with more important crimes like homicides and murders (1-4 every month, up from 1-4 ever year), missing people and stolen vehicles (90% of are literally nbs gm trucks) have become an epidemic. guns shots every night in multiple parts of the city.

Tons of people from out of state have moved up here and brought their problems up with them. it's not the same place I grew up in.

What percentage tint do you use to match factory?

I just told my buddy to match the rears. not sure but I'll ask him on Monday. wanna say 20%

50% is the limit here on the fronts, and they will stop you so thats probably what ill have to go with.

20% is pretty close, can't see the difference between my front and rears. FWIW, I've had 20% on my last 3 vehicles and have never been messed with by the police. 2 of those vehicles were when I lived in OH too.

Well for right now my tahoe looks pretty stock for the most part so I don't see too many cops hassling me about this. too be honest it looks like a old man's tahoe. plus I drive like a grandma lol

lol My kids got one day in the snow over Thanksgiving and they were ready to move....looks great and it was fun, but I'll stick with the palm trees and beach for now. Easier to get them dressed for school with shorts and a polo for school. lol
