04 tahoe: Rear captain chair top half won't lock

I can't get the top half of the second row captain chair to lock when put back into position.. If I pull it down to add storage space then go to put it back in seating position the latch won't catch.. If I use a screw driver I can force it back to lock though. How can I fix this? I tried searching but had no luck..

Got the same problem. Tried to let the seat down the last time and was really hard to pull the release. Finally did and now it won’t lock back in the upright position for landing.

Having this same problem with mine now. Anyone have an answer to show to free up the mechanism?
