‘04 z71 No 4x4 lights No service message

Howdy all, Nooj here.

Just picked up my brand spanking new 04 Tahoe Z71.
Biggest issue (so far!) is that it has the equipment of a 4x4 underneath, and the accompanying electronics- but with none of the fun of a 4x4.
No lights on the control, no 4x4 action when said control panel buttons are pressed. I’m not even seeing a “service 4wd” message!

I seem to have voltage and ground at the control. There is a tccm in place. TREC and 4wd fuses are good.

Anybody know of a thread or decent approach to troubleshooting this little bugger??

Welcome Nooj from Florida! If yours were mine, I'd get my Tech-2 on it and see what the internal trouble codes are and perform some diagnostic trouble shooting with it.

Swath, I wish I had a tech 2… would there be codes if there are no service messages or lights?

I think you’ve seen my turd-burban! I’ve got some more semi-progress stuff for it coming soon. I’ll throw a pic or two of the new ride.

Quite possibly yes, they could be historical or chassis or body codes. Check the Tech-2 owner's map on here and see if someone lives near you.
