    Engine Light Coming on....Very strange

I just checked and I do, in fact, have the yellow gas cap.

    Engine Light Coming on....Very strange

Excellent advice! I am meeting a friend for lunch and will stop by the auto parts store on the way home. Hopefully they have the extension, plug socket, dielectric grease, and anti-sieze. This should be a fun afternoon project on these rainy days here ( I took the week off and the weather is...

    Engine Light Coming on....Very strange

Well, honestly, I do not have any idea what an MAF sensor is, where it is located, or know how to clean it. As for the plugs, they have never been replaced to my knowledge. I have been meaning to look at how hard the job would be, what wrench (socket) I need, and do the job. I have not...

    Engine Light Coming on....Very strange

I will check in a few minutes. I honestly can't remember what color the cap is. Funny after hundreds of fill-ups, I don't have a clue.

    Engine Light Coming on....Very strange

Thank you. Yeah, my truck doesn't have the green "Flexfuel" logo on the back, but I often wondered if these things were made to work well (better) with a little corn in the gas? Thank you for letting me know that I am not the only one getting codes like this occasionally.

    Engine Light Coming on....Very strange

I had the codes pulled the first time this happened in late 2018 and I no longer know what codes they were. I did not have the codes pulled this time.

LOL! You are right! Owner's manual simply states 87 octane or higher.

    Engine Light Coming on....Very strange

Good morning fellow Tahoe/Yukon owners. I have a 2013 Tahoe with just over 120K miles. I bought it with ~85k miles on it and I have owned it since. At about 100k miles I filled the tank with 93 octane, 100% (no ethanol) gasoline. I have always had the practice of running a tank of "super...

    No headlights (Low beam) !!!

Soooo....drumroll..... It ended up being two blown bulbs. Strange because I check my headlights in every reflective bumper/tailgate. I never noticed the first bulb out, much less two at once. On another note, the dealer told me that my battery connections were loose and that could have...

    No headlights (Low beam) !!!

I feel so stupid! First of all, when I "tapped" the fuse box and thought it worked...well it didn't. Turns out, I had the high beams on when I made my confirmation. When I got in the Tahoe this morning, yes the lights came on, but they were on bright. When I pulled the yoke back to go to...

    No headlights (Low beam) !!!

...I am completely speechless. I got to thinking about the suggestion of a controlled "pop", so I took my flashlight outside, popped the hood, and took a hammer and gave a firm but controlled "tap" and voila....my lights came back on just as pretty as you please. Still cannot believe this. OMG!

    No headlights (Low beam) !!!

So....I went to three auto parts stores locally and NONE of them had the relays. They wanted between $14.99 and $21.99 for them, to boot. They told me they could order them and that they would be there on Tuesday. So I dialed up my Amazon prime account and ordered 4 of them for $30 and some...

    No headlights (Low beam) !!!

I am going to go by the auto parts store and buy 2-3 relays. They appear to be cheap. This seems to be the most common suggestion (and the only one that makes sense to me). I will also, give a controlled "pop" to the fuse box for what it's worth. Thanks again everyone. I will post updates...

    No headlights (Low beam) !!!

Thank you all for your responses. ALL electronic components aside from low beams work. There are (3), what I would call "notables" about all of this. 1. I had my car washed yesterday. (I am sure this had little if anything to do with this, but thought I'd mention it) 2. When I got the...

    No headlights (Low beam) !!!

Good evening everyone, I was at a friends house tonight and I left to head to another party. The sun was almost down. As it got darker, I realized that I couldn't see as well as normal. I pulled off the road and noticed that my low-beam headlights were not working. I cam home, popped the...

    Stranger Things

LOL, TRUE! I have 103k miles on her. I DID have a bumper to bumper warranty, but I decided to cancel it after I tried to use it once and there were all kinds of hoops to jump through to get them to pay. I honestly should have kept it, now that I have seen the several issues that have sprung...

    Stranger Things

So I took my Tahoe in for service as the lights came back on again and this was EXACTLY the issue. Driver's side front wheel speed sensor. I have already had the work done, but I do have a question... The dealer replaced the whole hub assembly (which included the sensor) as well as the...

    Stranger Things

So, some more stranger things last night... My wife and I went to some friends for dinner. The Tahoe drove there wonderfully and we parked at the street in front of their house. We enjoyed some wine, steak, and great conversation. We stayed about 4.5-5 hours and then we left to go home. I...

Okay, so update... New steering gearbox (lower control arms, bushings, etc.) New pinion seals New transmission cooler lines (were weeping) Replaced brake clips that had been reversed Alignment Some other seals $3800 worth. I am not sure it is a smart thing to put this much money into a used...

    Stranger Things

A few other things of note: I thought the wheel bearings, upper control bushings, and struts likely needed to be replaced. So I had the dealer check them while the vehicle was in the shop. The good news: To my surprise the dealer told me there was little to no play in the wheel bearings, no...

Took her to the shop today and found out that whoever did the brakes before I owned the vehicle had the rear brake retaining clips/pins put in backwards. Problem solved. Brakes were fine.

    Stranger Things

Good morning everyone, Situation 1. (blinker/turn signal) This past weekend I turned on my left blinker. Normally it has an audible "click noise" that matches the green blinking light on the cluster. This weekend the green would blink once green with a click noise, no green with a click...
