How many of you DO NOT experience buffetting and vibration problem?

2016 XL Denali with 22’s. No booming or buffeting, but I had a noticeable vibration around 75 mph with the stock Dueler tires. I just swapped them out for Michelin Defenders and had them Road Force balanced. Took 6 tires to get 4 within spec. Vibration is gone, it’s now smooth between 70-80 mph...

'18 Expedition Platinum vs '18 Yukon Denali

The LX is a 10+ year old design. Not a dealbreaker for some, but it was for me. We had an RX350 and it was rock solid. No argument here on reliability and resale value.

    Husky Liners X-ACT CONTOUR

Do you have the Weathertech 1-piece for 2nd and 3rd rows? I can't imagine that setup sliding around. I have it in my XL and it's really locked in place. Great setup with kids since it's a continuous surface between rows.

Protection for 2nd row pathway carpet?

The Weathertech 1-piece is awesome if you have kids using the 3rd row.

Loaded SLT vs Denali (Msrp 77 to 78k) difference

This is very subjective. I have a Denali with 22s and I've had passengers comment on the smooth ride. Some of us like the feeling of being more connected with the road. For me personally, I hate a pillowy ride where it's hard to tell when the car gets a little loose.

What are your tips/tricks to negotiating down the dealership?

I don't like to tell dealers how much I want for my trade. I know of instances where people were offered much more than they expected. No reason to lock yourself in from the start. Know what you want to get, and see what they offer first. Some great advice in this thread. Don't know if it's...

Do You Regret: Short-Body vs Long-Body

This. If 3rd row carseats are a part of your reality, the LWB makes much more sense. That said, as an XL owner, I think the SWB looks a tad better. Just seems like a more proportioned SUV when I see them on the road.

    Employee Pricing---is this legit?

This is exactly right. My wife had the X-Plan with a previous employer who was affiliated with Ford. In our case we were able to negotiate better pricing without even mentioning X-Plan. All depends on the vehicle, market, timing, etc.

    Employee Pricing---is this legit?

I think this is a shady practice and I see a lot of dealers doing this. I walked into one showroom that had a super-low price marked on a Denali XL. Turns out you would have had to qualify for every single rebate imaginable. My price would have been about 5k higher as I recall. Needless to say...

    Thoughts on this 15 Denali

I definitely agree with going "lightly used" on the Denalis. I used Ciocca Chevy out in Quakertown, PA...only because they had the exact vehicle I wanted. I got lucky that they were also great to deal with. I did a quick search for Denalis with similar mileage to your Mahwah one. Not sure how...

    Thoughts on this 15 Denali

I think it's an average deal. I worked in Mahwah for 15 years and I still reside in north Jersey. As you know, Mahwah is a pretty affluent area and the dealer's pricing typically reflects that. I've actually been to that dealer before; never purchased from them, but had a pretty good experience...

    Prices Paid

2016 XL Denali, 22" Wheels, Power Steps, HUD, ~80k MSRP. Had 13,000 miles. Paid 61.5k plus TTL in PA. I was pretty happy to get 23% off MSRP for a vehicle in pristine condition and such low mileage.

Anyone own a Yukon and Durango?

They should be on the back of your steering wheel by the paddle shifters. If I remember correctly, volume is on the right and station toggle is on the left.

Anyone own a Yukon and Durango?

My wife is not a fan of our Durango either. Claims it feels like a "man's car" and has trouble with visibility. But she loves our Yukon!

Anyone own a Yukon and Durango?

I have a '15 Durango Limited (V6) and a '16 XL Denali. Love them both but for different reasons. The Durango platform (which is based on the Mercedes GL platform) is a perfect mix of comfort and handling. I've had sport sedans my entire adult life so I really appreciate the way it handles. I...

    Buffeting Explanation

I came across an interesting thread on a Tesla forum. In one of the hatchback models, people were experiencing odd pressure sensations and ear popping with the windows up. They traced the problem to a loose section of the hatch, that was bouncing up and down on uneven road surfaces. The hatch...

    Buffeting Explanation

I think there are multiple different issues at play here. Buffeting is a resonance effect that you hear as a "whoomp-whoomp" with a rear window open. Many cars do this. I believe that the sensation people are feeling in their ears is a different issue, where something with the aerodynamics of...

    Buffeting Explanation

The buffeting that occurs is a form of resonance, and only occurs when the conditions are just right. The size of the opening, the turbulence of the air outside the opening, and the volume of the air inside the car all play a factor as to whether or not resonance occurs. As the article points...

    Husky Liners X-ACT CONTOUR

Yes, I posted some pics in the "Weathertech vs. Husky Weatherbeater" thread. I ended up with Xacts in the front row, Weathertech 1-piece for the 2nd and 3rd rows. Very happy with the setup.
