6.2L w/ Whipple weird belt wear

I have a 2018 RST 2wd, 6.2L with a 2.9 whipple. I recently replaced the serpentine, AC, and vacuum pump belts, idler pulleys and tensioner with pulley. I went with a gates green belt.

After a couple weeks I noticed an odd wear pattern on the belt, smooth side. I rechecked the idlers and tensioner pulleys and they are all free spinning.

Any thoughts why it’s wearing oddly? (See photo) I also added photos of the smoother pulleys

Is the green surface chaffed or scuffed? Or, is it just picking up some deposits from the water pump pulley, which I believe is the only surface that the green side of the belt actually touches?

That last pic of the outside rib worn, looks like it was off on one of the pulleys on start up. Question, why r the belts being replaced? If there is something wrong that tore up the first one then it might be doing the same to that one

Replaced just because of miles. The old belt was just worn from time and age. I will see if the black marks are chaffed or scuffed.

The only pulleys that are on the smoother side are the idlers and tensioner pulley. The water pump is grooved.

Looks to me like paint transfer from the flat pulleys. Are you sure that they rotate smoothly under tension? It's one thing to check them with the belt off, but maybe a stethoscope would allow one to hear a bearing issue with it in place.
