Hi all, I just replaced my suspension with all OEM magneride parts. Previous owner put passive aftermarkets in the front. I replaced all control arms, front and rear struts + springs, sway bar bushings and links.

Now I’m hearing major clunking in the front end over bumps, it rides poorly, and it sits much higher in the front. It used to slant downwards from the rear, as in the rear was slightly higher than the front (I was always told this is normal and I’ve seen many other Yukons like this). But now the truck is completely level.

Any ideas what went wrong here? I spent over 4k in total to get a smooth ride, and this is just awful. Bumpy and clunky. I could definitely use some advice.

I’ve attached the parts list for good measure.

Bumpy and clunky........ Can you explain this in more detail? Do you get a metal on metal type of clunk? Specifically, how does it ride poorly?

Either your received a defective strut, or something has not been installed/tightened correctly. Try to isolate the source of the issue/sound to either the left or right side for starters. When Magneride shocks fail, they get real stiff and give a harsh ride.

You have a Denali, so if the rear shocks are Z95 as well, and the air side if the rear suspension is working correctly, then the truck should be level by design, as in it is a feature. I purchased my new-to-me truck with aftermarket passive shocks installed in it. When I replaced the entire front suspension, including the springs, and converted back to the original Z55 system, my front height was 1/2" higher, presumably because of the new springs versus the old springs with 125k miles on them. Then, the Automatic Level Control (ALC) system kicked in and re-leveled the truck, applying the correct amount of air to the rear shocks to raise the rear end to be level with the front end.

It’s a nearly fully loaded Denali (only option it doesn’t have is ACC). Z95 mag ride package. I took a look at this link but I’m just as confused, the parts seem to line up from what I see. I have no idea what the issue could be…
This spring if I'm see correctly isnt for vehicle that has magnaride.

The springs will determine height of vehicle in front.
You should be able to type in your VIN on links page and should show which parts your vehicle was original built with.

Post pics of your setup: outside so we can see how the truck sits, and also the suspension components behind your front wheels (just turn the steering wheel all the way left/right, don’t take a wheel/tire off).

It sounds like either the springs are too tall, or there’s a puck/spacer from the previous owner…which would eat all of your downtravel and cause the issues you’re experiencing.
