I would be very curious to know what programs they use to program the computers on these. I have a feeling it's a professional level / priced tool, not an enthusiast level like AlfaOBD for FCA/Stallantis products, but would be cool if something like that existed.
I’m thinking so too because as soon as I talked about the airbag issue I was running into they shrugged it off saying the modules had to be programmed.

I also pulled into the shop and a Merc GLS63 AMG from another dealership was parked there for a new dash. They might have dealer connections.

Small update: Got a call from the shop and they are hoping to have the seats fully operational this week! They think I will be able to pick up on Saturday. Hopefully will be able to report back success this weekend!

Excited to see and hear about it. I just got notice truck will likely be ready on Monday now. They are still working on it and they are definitely taking their time because they do not want to se off the airbags in the seats or truck.
I’m guessing this is more difficult than they expected BUT they are still confident it can be done. Just time consuming.

Really unfortunate news everyone… my truck has been with a custom seat and upholstery shop for nearly 2mo. They have extensive dealership connections and were not able to get Cadillac Platinum seats to plug in and work… unfortunately it does not seem like this is just a matter of wiring. It is likely more in-depth coding and recognition even tho all part numbers are the same for ECUs and other parts.

I am likely still going to have the vented components added and maybe redo the leather to a more premium option. There are aftermarket massage units that can be integrated but they are obviously not factory. Major bummer because I thought this would have been a great retrofit but if anyone has other thoughts I’m more than happy to hear them.

What could they not get to work correctly? i know there are canbus boxes and com boxes that people smarter then myself can use to get various comms networks communicating properly across different networks. There are people in the Ram world getting 4th/5th gen parts to work on 2nd and 3rd gen canbus networks. So if the issue is can related, i'd imagine it's solvable, if you can get in touch witth the right people. If it's module related, it could be as simple as putting in the popper module and replacing the one in the burb, assuming the wiring is there or adaptable.

One of the things i love about my ram is how easy it is the access the BCM and make adjustments in it for turning things on that are programming ready, but turned off for future development by ram. There are several things i've added to my truck that are full factory things, but they just weren't offered and held back as something to add to a alter model, but to turn those things on you need tools that can actually make adjustments in the BCM and various modules to enable things. Which can be considered dealer level or beyond. It's annoying how manufacturers don't like us hacking their computers and modules...

The Caddy seats never even came alive. They just refused to communicate with the system at all. They functionally worked (when removed from the original vehicles) but when installed and plugged it they just refused to do anything. The shop tried rewiring them several different ways but could not get them to communicate or come alive.

It still baffles me this is not a doable swap but it’s seeming more likely that it would be easier to drop an entire Cadillac body on the frame… my wife already said no…

Dang it…. Stinkin wife always raining on parades…… I kid lol. :p
Right??? She doesn’t know but I went by today and talked with the shop (fyi I’m hiding my screen as I type this haha) and am talking to them about redoing the factory seats in a premium leather and adding the cooling with an aftermarket kit. In the end that’s probably the way I should have gone…
Going to do a new seat bottom foam + cooling + possibly a secondary lumbar air bladder. We shall see!
