I forgot to mention...
I was a Cub Scout in 4th-5th grade, won a spelling bee in 6th grade (I spelled 'Anxiety', mainly by paying attention to all the failed spellings before my turn
), and was in the Glee Club in 7th grade.

No draft, but now, when you turn 18, it is an automatic sign up instead of the 18 year old having to go down and sign up. The draft was like a lottery before and birth dates were assigned a number from 1 to 365, and the first 182 numbers drawn, those birth dates were getting drafted.

WHATEVER, my birthdate turned out to be "2" and I joined the NAVY instead of being drafted in to the ARMY or MARINES.
