Hey yall, I ended up in a massive DWI legal disaster and had to take my truck off the road for various reasons. It needs WORK. Im wondering what you guys think about the deal im offering my buddy.

Its a 2011 PPV with body damage and power steering issues. Motor runs great, trans shifts smooth.
It needs a driver front fender and driver door. By the looks of it, the subframe is fine and this is just a matter of unbolting and bolting new fender n door.
I replaced the pwr steering pump and hoses and it still leaks (could very well be hi pressure line seal) OR a new rack n pinion.

All of the mild typical things that could go wrong with this gen, have gone wrong. Needs hood latch cable. Needs liftgate actuator/whatever part. Needs front brake pads, interior body panels put back together, trans flush n filters, and has a small windshield crack (not too big a deal where I live). It needs a radiator fan or wiring repair. Also bunch of other light odds and ends, non mechanical, mostly cosmetic.

Its got 150K on the clock.

Im in a bad spot in life right now and just need fast cash and to get this thing out of my garage.

********Im asking $1200 bucks. Am I royally ripping myself off? Like I said, I just need quick cash and to get rid of this thing, and I dont want to rip my friend off.

PICS coming soon. Im in the NY/NJ area.

Well, hopefully, if you are the one that was pulled over for the DWI infraction, you will learn from all the hell you are going thru. Drinking and driving is no joke. It also costs you pain and misery and as you are seeing now, it costs you $. I can only assume that the damage to the 2011 PPV was done during the DWI. If you can get the $1200 from your buddy and he is happy, do it. Your list of vehicle needs on a 15 year old PPV, is long. You will be lucky to get the $1200.

Buddy, I was asking about the value of the truck. Take your DWI critique and jam it up your box.

Also, how ironic this is coming from a Vietnam vet who grew up in a time where DWI was simply called "Going Home"

If you were only asking about the value of the truck, then do a critique on the truck damage and truck needs and no need to include the DWI info.

Plus, this Vietnam Vet gives rides home to drunk American Legion and VFW vets, on a regular basis.

It was a bad decision. End of story. You made a MISTAKE. Glad no one got hurt, including yourself. You did not say whether anyone got hurt, so I assumed.

If, you learn from this, all good. If not, someone in the future could get hurt. I do apologize for saying what I did but you did share the reasons for the truck damages and previous concerns.

If it's essentially a non-driver at the time of the sale you have to consider that it's just a parts-truck, and those don't carry the value of something beat up, but still a turn-key option.

It's a southern-New England rig, so there's gonna be rust, which while totally normal for it's area, is going to lower the value. If the truck spent its life in New Mexico or somewhere out that way, you'd get more $$$.

If you had the time & space you'd probably make more money parting it out, especially the larger items like the engine, transmission, axles, etc...

I'd say 1200-1500 bucks is reasonable.

One big thing about this truck is it came from Georgia and didnt spent much time out in the elements up here. The undercarraige is CLEAN. Ive worked out a deal where I get a new xbox, some other cool shit and a grand. Im happy with it, hes happy with it. I paid 5 grand for it and probably put 800 into it. Fastest vehicle ive ever owned. Ill miss it.

I sold the 2nd and 3rd row seating, and would leave the spare wheel out. K&N intake, performance exhaust, the thing was a rocketship. 2wd was horrendous in the winter but I barely drove it in the snow. I call this thing the Truckvette.

One of my favorite parts about it was its intimidating look blacked out with the spotlight. Morons doing 45 in the fast lane of the highways up here actually move the hell out of your way. NY/NJ drivers are all glued to their phones and generally assholes behind the wheel. This was a great counter to all of that. My next vehicle will definitely be a retired police or fire vehicle. Yes-you have to do a ton of electrical work usually but thats what I did for a living. Easy stuff if you know what youre doing. The only thing you gotta worry about is if they didnt seal the holes they drilled for the roof lightbar or other aux stuff with gaping holes in the body....

With any luck, you'll be able to get another one at some point in the future.

This thing only spent a few years up here in NY. It came from Georgia. Most rust free vehicle ive ever owned.
