All good, the record I have personally made with a D1 was 815 wheel with a c6 corvette standard trans with a 418 stroker and trickflow heads/102mm intake set up. That was slightly over spinning the rated max rpm and shifting at 7500 rpm. That was a 10 percent overdrive bottom with a 2.8 inch upper. That 4.8 inch pulley on yours is what comes stock on a d1 for a stock 6 liter to make like 420 wheel on my dyno.
I assumed since you were posting up your engine in a thread about someone's lifter, you were down for the attention on it. Carry on.
The engine makes all of that NA. also that pulley in the picture is from long before I finished it i don't remember the current pulley size.

Did you diagnose to see if the lifter is just stuck. They can sometimes be fixed. I have come across two people so far that have used the lifter release tool from Crazed Performance.

Mine is a 2007 and does not have any afm.
I have not been home yet just listening to it over videos.

I ordered parts that I knew I would replace so I didn’t have to wait on them as my time at home is limited.

What I do know is it has a tapping knocking noise on cold startup that quiets down when the engine warms up which to me sounds like a classic lifter tap. Yes I know about the piston slap this is not that.
Along with that I have p0304 cylinder 4 misfire.

So I’m hoping the push rod and cam are still in good shape and I can put new lifters in and be good

I did a whole AFM delete on my 2015 Yukon Denali with the L86 6.2, I got the kit from BTR with their LS7 lifters and cam about $1500 in parts all together ran about 80 miles then one of the new lifters took a crap, replaced the lifters with Melling brand non-AFM lifters and ran great until I traded the truck in a few thousand miles later, If I had to do it again would have bought the name brand lifters, Melling, AC Delco etc .....
I sure hope that is not the case with mine. I called btr questioning them on the lifters.
They told me they get them from the same supplier as the gm ones but the difference is there is no warranty with those. They said they would warranty case by case but only the failed one and it had to be sent back for inspection.
He said if one of there lifters fail they will warranty the whole set no questions asked.

Also he said the Johnson lifters were the best ones but for my stock application that i would be fine with the ls7.
Now of course this is btr selling btr products and I get that but if i do have a problem down the road hopefully there customer service can step up and shine. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that is not the case

Got my parts in just waiting to get home and tear it apart. Keeping my fingers crossed I don’t find anything else while I’m there.

Far more important than the thread chaser is to Blow out the coolant and junk that gets into your head bolt holes before mounting your new head gasket and replacing the heads. Coolant trapped in the hole will keep the head bolt from tightening the head to the block.
Coolant will be in the holes when you pull the head. Can't be avoided unless you pull a block plug and drain the block on each side before removing the heads. Good luck with your job.

Nice move on the thread chaser.
Yea I don’t want any leftover junk in there and I could use the old bolts running them in and out but it was cheap and worth it.

Absolutely this isn’t my first time so I do know to clean out the holes but some ppl won’t know to do that so this is a great tip that will avoid costly mistakes.

Thank you I hope I don’t find anything else extra surprises when I open it up. I’ll definitely be doing an update on it one way or another
