I went Amber on the DRL LEDs because their white LEDs looked awful - I was disappointed in Sylvanias color temp selection (probably 6500 Kelvin when I was going for 3,000 ish). The ambers look great since it matches the turn signals.

A few years back I cleaned up the DRL sockets and installed 6000 degK ("daylight") LEDs, but I didn't think they were decently visible. I recently switched to amber LED and they seem to be more visible, easier to be seen.

A few days ago I drove my Burban for the first time in 3-4 months. I had to jump start it, as the battery was dead. I drove it for about a 20 minute drive, then after trying to start it a few minutes later the battery was dead again. I boosted it again and drove home, and put a trickle charger on it when I got home. Looks like it's not taking a charge. I guess this battery has shit the bed. Its from 2021, so it's 5 years old now. From experience, that's about the time when all my previous batteries had failed.
Since I very rarely drive it anymore, I'm debating on getting a battery disconnect switch as well.

Washed it and topped off the E85 (@ $2.999!). Tomorrow it'll make a run to the mountains, near Bailey, just a day trip to get away with a couple of friends and the grand-dog.

It was around 80° here today and should be about 70° up there -- we're having a string of early high temps. Bailey's altitude is only about 7,800 feet but we'll get up to around 9,100 during our travels.

A simple cheap battery disconnect has saved the battery in my gmt400 that never gets driven. Its atleast six years old and I can flip the switch and fire it right up no problem. A little extra security too. It has been attempted stolen before...

Gas is about $3.50-$3.75 here right now. Makes me glad that I am NOT driving my Suburban every day anymore. Ever since I've started this new job about 6-7 months ago I have only driven it a handful of times. I still have a quarter tank of gas in it, and haven't filled it up in MONTHS.
I now have a take home company vehicle and a fuel card, so now I VERY rarely drive my own truck anymore. With my old job, I commuted to work every day in my Suburban, now it just sits. On my off days, I drive my wife's Traverse because we are usually going somewhere together. We did drive it to Home Depot a few weeks ago instead of the Traverse, because I had to get some deck lumber. With that roof rack on the Suburban, hauling 12 foot boards is no problem.

Got a new grille but gotta get my transmission cooler in first. Probably this weekend. If my youngest daughter's car doesn't eat my time up. Lol. And been going back and forth on a front chevy badge. Just went with the gloss black one for now. Should be in tomorrow I hope.

How do you like them? Fit and finish?
When I bought my assemblies I put my oem brackets on them. The aftermarket ones felt cheap, and the plastic was thin.
So far so good. Need to be adjusted though.

Yep, I used it in a junkyard reservoir I picked. CLR & hot water, then shook the heck out of it & let it sit overnight. I'd show you a photo of the result, but my Yukon is currently buried under about a foot of snow.
Ok, I tried CLR and hot water. Not too bad. Better results than from the other stuff I tried. Still didn't get it all the way, but that's ok. I think I've spent enough time on it already. I did it twice and the first one did well, the second just a little bit. Both times I shook it well and let it sit overnight. I used some plastic from a bag to put over the nipples and wrapped em with electrical tape to seal it temporarily while it sat. I vote yes on the CLR. Ty sir

Well I've discovered that my Tahoe's Magnaflow catalytic converter assy has gone missing from my brother's shop where I had it stored for a while. $450. And (surprise surprise) nobody knows nothing either. I'm none too happy

Gonna go pick up the rest of the parts I need for my Tahoe tomorrow! Well, except for a cat assy. Probably gonna have to go with a $150 cheap-o for now. That or no cats, but that'll probably sound like doodoo

Actually has a nice rumble without cats, but it'll definitely have a little more fumes/smell.
