firm is good, you should also hear the pump run on a key cycle "most of the time" according to GM, there may be instances where it does not activate each key cycle.
if you listen closely to the pump by the drivers rear wheel and do a auto-start you should hear a brief exhale by the pump just before it runs, then after the vehicle is parked, shut off and it has sat for a minute or so you may hear another brief exhale.
if the shocks feel really hard that could be a sign of the relief valve on the pump not working then it just inflates them to crazy psi and the result is a rough bumpy ride.
you could also take it a for a 5-10 minute drive, park on a level surface, leave it running and reach under there and feel the rear shocks they should still be "firm" if they are very squishy that could indicate a leak somewhere. low psi on the rear shocks though would make the rear left/right sway worse rather than create a bumpy ride, unless they were completely deflated perhaps.
Good stuff to know/look for, Doubeleive. After installing them, I did give em a squeeze test and found them to be firm with a little/slight give. I do occasionally hear the pump on some starts- figured it to be normal. Again, good stuff to know & look for. Thanks!

This forum is great!!

by bouncy do you mean it's to hard or to soft, I've heard both referred to as bouncy.

data from a tach 2 would be helpful and for the price it's always worthwhile to have one. but since they worked and then didn't and are a no name brand. it's usually a good guess the part has failed.

It’s a hard stiff bounce. That sounds funny, huh? lol. I can press the Stabilitrak button and get a hard slightly soft bounce.

That seems like it would be more like an OEM bounce, if they were aftermarket. Are you sure they’re aftermarket?
Yes. Parts Geek. TRQ brand. I’m not sure what a sitting still OEM bounce feels like, but this in-motion bounce is abnormal to me. I recall the Cadillac ride I had when I purchased the truck. This is faaar from it. Should there be a “Settle in” time for these struts?

Not that I'm aware when I changed my Z55 shocks, but Z55 and Z95 shocks are not the same.
