As much as it saddens me, I decided against a new Tahoe and purchased a new Nissan Armada. I thought I was a die hard Chevy guy but after seeing and reading all the issues people are having with brand new tucks, I decided that I did not want that headache in my life. While I have owned many Chevy products and have posted about them on this forum, I could not be more happy with my decision. No more issues with cylinder deactivation, lifters, broken dashboards, and the list goes on. I now enjoy having V8 all the time and know I don't have to purchase a "range" device or put in a new cam shaft to keep all 8 cylinders engaged. My new 5.6L is fast and fun to drive.

I don't blame you one bit. I, too, have been all GM my entire driving career but I am also keeping options open when replacement time comes. I have liked what Toyota and Nissan have done with their truck lines as of recent.
The thought of spending that kind of $$$ on something that could have catastrophic issues doesn't sit well with me or my wallet. Best of luck with your new ride. I hear the 5.6L is a nice motor to run, but don't know much more about them than that.

Good luck man. The 5.6 is thirsty. Im a Toyota man and made the switch to a duramax yukon. I was a GM tech for years and it's not really that bad. More issues with suppliers then design. It's what you get sometimes. Anyways wish you luck !
The nissans are under rated in my opinion which leads to lower resale value but it what it is. I wouldn't buy a GM newer than 2020 myself unless something drastic changes in the future.

In my view a lot of buyers come to these forums to see what problem owners are having and a lot of other owners are posting their problems but if owners are not having problem, they aren't posting. I understand why people view a lot of these problems as every such vehicle there looking to own. I have 2017 Yukon and a lot of the post say don't buy 2017 because of transmission but knock-on wood I haven't had problem, but I see owners having problems. Still these forums are great.

Sometimes it seems like GM should be monitoring these forums to get a feel for what problems are out there, the amount of the same problems and the feel for what the GM customer thinks about their product but if they are in fact monitoring here and at other places, they don't seem to be paying attention. Granted, there are 81k+ members here and that is a small portion of GM's customers but we talk to a lot of people and you would think that GM could get a clue as to what is going on. I feel very lucky to have my 2005 Z71, where most of the bugs got worked out by end of that model run and also feel lucky that I can find rust free OBS rigs in my area, that still suit my needs and can be worked on without having a degree in engineering.

FWIW, message boards, Facebook groups, etc, seem to magnify problems with cars. I change cars frequently so I still read various forums of vehicles I used to own. Every vehicle/brand has problems. Especially luxury vehicles with lots of features. A lot of people come to forums to vent and ask for advice on issues. Anyways, good luck with the Armada.
