I have an 05 Escalade EXT and an 05 Yukon Denali (not xl). I know theres about a 500lbs difference between the two vehicles but the EXT is sooo much slower off the line than the Denali. They have the same gearing, same intake and exhaust. Is the EXT really this balless down low or is something actually wrong with the truck. Its got new plugs, cleaned MAF, new tires. I have 3 trucks with the 6.0 and the EXT just doesnt feel like theres any power till it hits about 60mph

I think you're feeling the extra 500 lbs difference. I know when I removed my spare, and 3rd row seats out of my 09 LTZ, I can feel the difference off the line. I figure I removed about 150 lbs, so I think 500 lbs is why you feel your EXT is slower.

I knew 500lbs was going to make a difference, but i didnt think it would be as drastic as this. And actually, i dont have the spare in it, and the heavy tonneau cover/pannels are off too. So its a little less but damn. Gonna have to do a cam and a tune to wake it up.

I wonder if the tune is different—maybe more torque management for the luxury SUV?

Same gearing according to the RPO codes. I was wondering about the tune. I bought both used so idk if any tuning was done. Or even if from the factory they are different.

As said, it may have s different tune from the factory. But remember 500 lbs is approaching 10% of the total weight, so I'm not surprised you can feel it.

So im going to have to do some mild mods i supposed. I figured the extra 10hp would make that 500lbs difference a little less noticeable. But it looks like i was wrong.
