On the cold mornings we are now getting here in Cincy when I start my truck (199K miles) I get the valve/lifter rattle for a minute or so then it is quiet and normal sounding. I am running 10w 30 in it. Should I run a thinner oil to help get oil to those lifters sooner in cold weather? The...
Yea I was just going to pull it and look. I should have done this when I replaced the darn cabin filter though I was fine with just #1 setting not working at that time, now that 2 is dead I have to put it on 3 and with ac on, gets a little cold.
I have had my Silverado for 4 years. It never had a working fan speed for #1 setting. Now I have lost #2, the remaining fan speeds are working. What is the issue and how can it be fixed?
The old girl at 192k needs shocks. What is a good sensible brand to put on it. Stock height, don't need TOP end stuff (prob won't have it that long, years more, to warrant that money) but don't want cheap stuff either. Monroe's good?
It will not hurt seals in the motor when I run trans fluid in it? I am due for a oil change about the time it runs low again. Good time to do the trans fluid thing and see what it does.
So when my oil is low throw in a quart of trans fluid. How long do I let it idle? Then just change the oil as normal?
I have a 72 Buick. I can drop some trans fluild in the carb while it is running and that will clean it?
