V4 drone around 30-40 mph with my foot barley on the gas peddle. Foot off the pedal it's fine. Push the throttle just a little bit more and it's gone but still in V4. M5 and I don't have to listen to it. Wish V4 only kicked in at freeway speeds. No vibration up to 85. That's the fastest I've driven in it. The trip I took this weekend, cruise set at 80 most of the way. My 4 yo girls love the Yukon and would rather ride in it than my Silverado. My wife has no issues either.

Bummer about the drone. Is the dealer working on it?

Nope. Haven't taken it to the dealer. I need to for a couple other warranty issues and I will bring this up or see if they can just program out the low speed v4 mode.

Well for droning they've been reattaching roof bows and adding insulation I think? Not sure how much luck people are having with that.

Mine isn't roof bows. Sound is coming from below me. Roof is fine. Driving in M5, it's quiet at all speeds, switch over to D or M6 the V4 low speed drone comes back. Nothing at high speed. That's why I wish V4 didn't activate until over 55mph.

So I have noticed most of the issues are the roof, rims, or while in v4 mode. Does anyone with a lowered/altered suspension have these issues?

Personally I would not go to the great lengths some have in here in having roof bows reattached, drive shafts replaced, etc.
This is a problem that has existed in GM vehicles with AFM for many years.

Removing areas of vibration are nothing more than a band aid to the problem, the DOD cam.

There are two ways to easily deal with the problem: 1) Drive in the manual 7 mode(8 speeds); 2) Buy a tune or module to remove the AFM.

The dealership cannot and will not ever truly fix this problem. Like I said, it has existed for DOD vehicles for years and I have never heard of the DOD cams being replaced or removed under recall.

I paid $200 for a module that removes the AFM and the truck drives with no vibrations, humming, etc.
$200 investment in an $80K SUV...no problem.

the steering/whole vehicle violent vibrations felt at 75mph+ are AFM related?

I have this problem. I have had what they call the transmission service bulliten done twice by two different dealers. They have said it is clutch chatter. The second attempt was done yesterday. Today the transmission stuck in approximately third gear. I drove it directly to the dealer from the day before, kept it running and had them check it out. They said it showed no codes then reset the tcm. It still shudders in v4 mode between 1100 rpm and 1600 rpm. If you go to manual and change the rpm at the same speed it goes away. As cardude 2000 said it doesn`t do it above 70 mph. Techs at both dealerships said that there is no fix for it.

Most seem not be having those problems.
To me that sounds like a wheel/tire issue. I'd start with a good road force balance.

If the problem is so common, how come it's not a universal problem.

I think that's what GM is trying to figure out. The bad press and high number of buybacks isn't fun for them I'm sure.

That's what they've been doing. Sounds like for some vehicles the vibration remains even after replacing tires multiple times (and doing road force balancing) for others it helps.

I have to say this.

I have a 15 Tahoe a 151/2 suburban and 16 Tahoe.

I had heard a noise in the burb that when I took the roof cross members off. It went away. Now I did change the tires out to some michelins and use Mobil 1 oil. I keep my tire pressure at about 35lbs and did road force balance my tires.

Other than that not much. I travel on the highway on a regular basis. 65 regularly

65 is about the only mph that doesn't seem to cause anyone any issues. 80 or so is when vibration seems to kick in. But in the 5 or so I've driven it was only present in 2 of them.

Its not the tires it only happens in my vehicle between 1100 rpm and now after the service recall it goes up to 1500 rpm at any car speed if you go to manual it goes away. and when its in V4 only.

There is a service bulletin for transmission clutch chatter. That is there excuse for not being able to fix the V4 shudder.

Once again, DOD cam.
Manual mode or buy something that removes AFM.
