Yeah you would need a fresh clean surface. If you read Zach's blog post he goes through the process on how to apply it and what should be done prior to application. Like I said before I have no used this coating so I really can't make any claims on how it performs. I personally use Americoat and CQuartz Finest on my clients vehicles. Another product you could use that I have used would be Ameriarmour, which is also very easy to apply. I can say that this is a good product as I have used it and it does work great. I just used armour on a set of wheels I did for a client along with Black Pearl tire coating.

Wrapped up a few spots and in storage, will be on a ship and heading to me in a few weeks when the ice clears!

Changed the alternator. One of the easiest alternator changes you could have. I probably spent more time to go to NAPA a few miles from my house than changing it. Haha...

May not have been necessary, but since voltage at the battery was well below 14V while running, I thought might as well. The truck is sometimes a bit slow to crank and now that the battery is a couple of months old and alternator brand new, hopefully that will not be the case anymore. Sometimes it also just clicks, but always starts after a couple more turns of the key.

I did notice that the negative terminal was a bit loose even when tightened as much as I could. It wasn't flopping around, or anything, but just slightly loose so that you could move it by hand. Not sure if that is the cause of the clicks, but I did manage to make a bit tighter, so I guess we'll see.

Hate to hear the wife complaining about it...

If the problem continues you might want to look at replacing the negative battery cable. I have a 07 Yukon and at about 75k miles I was experiencing hard starts, low voltage, draining the battery, there is a thread on here if you need more info
