You're removing the long roof rails? What goes in their place?

Using SS machine screws with Silione, 5 Each side. Bought some 1" wide 1/4" thick Black
rubber side molding to fill the roof slots. Will post pictures after completed.

You have to remove the headliner to take off roof rack? Wow that sucks. My 2002 you don't have to take the headliner off... I'm curious to why did you have to take out the headliner to take off the roof rack on the outside of the truck?

Wow, I can't believe there isn't any sound deadening material installed on the roof.....I swear these American SUV's are overpriced for what you actually get.

The older ones had threaded inserts in the roof, you could take the roof rack off and only have the threaded
inserts left. You could drill the rivets out and silicone flat top rivets in the holes. Was really easy. New ones are through
bolted with lock nuts. It does suck!! I guess you could cut the bolts, but then
you would have a half of bolt and nut laying on the air bags! could be some heavy
shrapnel if they ever went off!

Looks great

You did this yourself, any easy is it to mess up and introduce new squeaks rattles etc - always uneasy with removing the headliner
