GTM K2UC/G 2015 jumpseat with storage console swap into 2004 GTM800.

My lid broke so it was time for a total upgrade.

This is a 1 week old law enforcement take out. brand New gray interior jump seat console from a 2015 Tahoe.

The base of the console has a locking storage compartment that I plan to have a new tumbler installed that is pinned to my ignition key cut.

The 2 12v power outlets will be wired, along with the USB integrated into the DVD dash.

As far as the mounting bracket. Once I pull the existing i will give more details in that area.

The plastics are DAMN close for being 10 years apart. They will not be next to each other so the slight tint shit I am hoping will not be noticed. If so I will die to match.

Why a jump seat?

Because I have a jump seat now. I firmly feel that trucks are supposed to have bench seats. I love that my ol lady can slide over next to me and I can put my arm around her. I can cary 6 people at any given moment and not worry about my 3rd row that is in storage. I wanted more cup holders, and more storage. And loved the locking base storage. (Will get a custom welded lock box).

So Im assuming your going to take a factory jump seat lower bracket and weld the new jump seat to it? I had to hack apart the crap out of a jump seat bracket to bolt my console to it, but it worked pretty good. Sorry I didnt take any pics of the seat with the cushions removed.

No hacking. But yes weld this console to the old factory base. The gtm800 and 900 have almost identical frames but this gen is totaly diff. But that is why I am going to take measurements and tons of pictures for anyone that in the future may want to do this.

Also the jump seat and the full console have different frames in the 800 and 900s. So if you were going jump to full console I can see lots of hack.

The fit is good. For the moment it is sitting along with the loos seats set in place. Welding up the frame swap is next. And once that is all dialed in and I have the 12v wiring addressed. I will address color matching once I have the frame done. But for now. She fits like a glove.

It has been pouring rain all day so I have basically been at a stand still on this project.

So I took down the xmas decorations.

Ok I finally got time when the neighbor was home from night shift that we could hang out and I could use his welder to finish the console swap.

The factory frame was cut above the cross joints just at 1/8" below the top point of the seat belt bung. And the front was 1/2" above the carpet. This allowed for the 2015 console front tabs to fit inside the factory base and the rear overlapped.

Me tacking it up how I wanted. Pic thanks to neighbor.

Haha I know that's right. I pulled my seats and console numerous times to get mine to fit. Great work!
