Own a 1997 Yukon 2-door. Not paying too much attention to finding a better way of better gas mileage in the last 17 years and 200K+ miles, any ideas to curb up it`s now 13 MPG`s?

It's a 6000lb beast. MPG's aren't going to be that great.

With that said, I have a 2000 Limited, and I can get around 16-17 in town being really easy on the throttle. And going 70mph down the freeway can get 20-21. We averaged around that on our trip out to San Diego last October.

Takes discipline to not full throttle it to keep up with everyone else off the line. I can't complain about the MPG's, I had an 05 STS before that was really similar around town, but a little better on the freeway.

I certainly don`t drive to prove I can keep up with anyone. Did new injectors, wires, plugs, filters, exhaust, but no luck curbing it`s appetite. The truck used to do better years ago. Figure it`s just the motor loosening up and needs the extra fuel.

Anyone try those 'Turbo' air induction gadgets for the intake? Heard positive and not so positive reviews of it.
