Haha..ya when you do it on a large scale it REALLY sucks balls. I bet Copper and I could do a howto video and make some money, his looks real good..better than mine I think

I did my entire Evo interior before someone crushed the rear end of it. I think I had a HELL of a lot more curves and shit in that car than a Yukon/Tahoe would.

Want to know what sucks the most about dynamatting? The ganglion I always get in my wrist afterwards.

Sound deadning sucks... I use to do it a lot when i worked at a stereo shop. I had my whole tahoe done when I did the 6 12's...

Could post more, but I'm not going to ***** out his thread...

Not of the dynamat, just of the gutted interior in my white swap thread in the interior section...I wasn't going to post anything until I completed the interior swap completely. I know it sucks that I gave you guys a teaser in my thread but I have always liked those threads that pop up with the entire project done start to finish with a video included. That's how I'm rolling on this one

I can tell you that the interior shop I chose to redo my door vinyl is a very well known guy who's family has been doing interior work for generations....this guy really knows his stuff.

Little tease on what I'm wiring up right now, and it will give you a good outline of the speaker system. The front speakers are going to be in kick panels, then front and back doors sets, and then the last two in the back hatch. Wired with 16 gauge monster speaker cable, and run seperated from any power cables.

sick install on the Dynamat..... check out Fat Mat cheaper and same quality!! comes in a roll, so its easier to lay long strips!!!

Yup yup crossovers, they seperate the high and lows to the tweeters and woofers. Actually just came on to post a pic of what I did to all the crossovers. I put some silicone in the corners of the crossover housing. You don't want that board falling out of it's clips on a hard bump and rattling around in it's housing behind your door panel.

Oh well, I need less then a box to finish it off, and I'm not changing over now. Thanks for the info, maybe I'll look into that for my girls car.

Sorry, but Fat mat is nowhere near the quality of Dynamat Extreme. Nor does it work as effectively to start or later down the road.
Both the adhesive, the rigidity of the foil backing, and even the thickness/weight compare unfavorably to Dyn Extreme. it IS better than the old Dynamat asphalt, and other asphalts...


The best out is Damplifier pro IMPO, and regular damplifier and dynamat extreme are about equivalent... the price for Dyn Extreme on Amazon is about the same as the price on SS Damplifier, so price they are both a wash and both a great deal.

Dyna as a company is awesome. I have never used them in a car, But I must have spent an easy 50k using it all over my house when I redid it. its So go you can never tell it storming out until you open a door. I got dynil in the walls. and Dynapad on the floors and ceilings, in every room, Including the garage.

How much Dynamat is used for the rear floor section? I got 1 bulk pack of extreme (36 sq ft)...will that be enough to atleast get the cargo floor area for now?

For just the cargo area floor that will be enough, with a a piece or two left.


Here are a couple pics of today's work, finished off wiring from the front two door and placement of the wiring harness, power cables and speaker cables in the channels of the front doors. All connections have been coated with electric greese/oil. Not much but keep in mind it's football day...Go Cowboys!
