my 02 tahoe has drive by wire . i thought that started in 03. i have looked at lots of other tahoe/yukon/sierra/silverados and have not seen another with dbw. curious to know why mine is this way and how many others have it.

You probably have a late production 02. GM does that with a lot of late production vehicles, where they start incorporating next years changes into the end run of the current year.

I had an 02 Trailblazer and it had DBW.

Mine is a late model 2002 with flex fuel, doesn't have drive by wire but has 03 rear calipers. Agravating stuff.

The line up pins are in a different location on the pads. Was fed up after multiple trips to the part store thinking I got the wrong pads. Took it to a shop and they had the same problem. Tried some 2003 pads and they went right on. Put the two Side by side and they pins were in different locations.

They had dbw in 01. It's bc you have traction control. Nothing wrong with dbw.

Why hate DBW? it's just as responsive as with wire. You run a good tune and you will never know the difference.
