Getting my front windows tinted next week and just wondering what every is running on their windows. Oregon is 35% on the front so most likely I'll stay with that but wondering if I should add more to the backs.

if you do 20% up front, it will match the rear. However, if cops are a PITA in your area, stick with legal.

There's a lot of threads about this already. Do a search...

I went darker than stock with 18% on the fronts on our 2011. The shop I used recommended this because the light coming through theses big ass windshields makes the front tint look lighter. It's not "legal" however it blends perfect with the stock tint in the rear! Left the rears stock.

I have 35% on the front and 15% over factory on the back. I'm considering going darker on the front though. I like it really dark so you can't see in and the 35% just isn't dark enough for me.

15% over the rear windows and 35% on the front, thinking of going darker in the font and doing the top of the front windshield in 5% for the sun glare.

Keep in mind tgat clear glass with the greenish hue is between 25-30%....

That is something most dont know when they get front windows tinted.

So when u add ANY film to that....99% of the time ur to dark.

^^^This is exactly what I got on the avalanche recently. It matches the back perfectly with 18% :imo:

Do it! I did the 5% brow and it helps with the sun glare so much.

Thanks for all the input guys, think I'll just play it safe for now with 35% up front but anything will be a improvement. Also gonna do the strip across the top of the windshield, ha Nathan that's crazy around here they would probably try to impound my kon if I did that!

In Oregon you can easily get away with matching the rear. I had a ridiculously big truck with 5% tint all around and never got pulled over for anything. You will be good. Matching is the way to go, looks awesome.

Ya I think I could get away with 20%, most of the year I'm on the west side of the state in the valley and never had any problems with my f250 that had 5%. It's just when I come home to the east side of the state for part of the year is when I run into trouble. Great looking Tahoe by the way

I can see the pillars/tweeters... :hands:

Seriously though, those of us non-exempt must semi-abide... And in Texas the inspection/registration stickers must also display from the windshield. This below was 50% (ceramic) on entire windshield with upper and lower 5% brows. Front doors are 5%, all rears are 15% on top of factory tint.

I chose to put my stickers on a piece of clear static cling vinyl (which sticks to the tint too), that way there will never be issues with having to peel them and/or damage the tint.

And the tint is almost non-existent from inside... especially when the windows are rolled down.
